Update: European Travel Information and Authorization System Visa

The implementation of the ETIAS Visa has been postponed to 2026. You will no longer need an ETIAS Visa to visit Italy at the time of the wedding! You can find more information on the ETIAS website linked below.

Flight

Naples

The nearest international airport is Naples (NAP) which services most major cities and is about a 1 hour drive to Ravello. From the airport, you can call an Uber or take one of the several taxis lined up outside of the Airport. Most Ubers and taxis charge a flat rate to Ravello and other areas on the Amalfi Coast, about €150. If you plan to arrive with a larger group of people and need help setting up transportation to Ravello, please reach out to Emily and Neal with your expected date of arrival. Alternatively, you can reach the Amalfi Coast by train or by public transport bus.

Flight

Rome

Rome (FCO) offers many direct flights and is a 3.5 hour drive to the Amalfi Coast/Ravello. You can book a private transfer from Rome Airport to Ravello, or choose to take the high speed train to Naples which takes ~1 hour, with an additional 1 hour drive required to Ravello. If you need assistance booking transportation for your group, please contact Emily and Neal. Ubers and taxis are also available at both Rome and Naples airports. Rome is the largest airport in Italy and therefore offers non-stop flights from most cities, which are often less expensive than Naples. Please keep in mind that 2025 is a Jubilee Year for the Catholic Church, and Rome is expected to attract a higher number of tourists than usual. If you plan to fly into Rome, please book your flights early.

Rental Car

Private Transfer

For private transfers, we highly recommend contacting your hotel's concierge, as they can assist in making the necessary arrangements for you. We found that this was the easiest and most efficient way to book a private car in Italy. We don’t encourage guests to rent a car on the Amalfi Coast, as driving in this region is challenging and parking is limited. If you would still like to rent a car, we highly encourage you to organize parking with your hotel in advance.

Uber & Taxi

At both Rome and Naples Airports, there are Ubers and Taxis available upon your arrival to take you to Ravello. You can use your Uber app to book an Uber ride from the airport. Once you book your ride, the app will give you step by step directions to the pick up area. To hail a taxi at the Airport, head to the designated taxi stand outside the arrivals area and join the queue. Before getting in, confirm your destination with the driver and confirm the total amount owed. While most taxis will have card readers, it's best to be prepared to pay in cash or ensure that they accept credit cards. Most Ubers are also taxis, and so they charge similar rates. To get to Ravello, there is a flat rate of €150 from Naples Airport.

Train

Italo and Trenitalia

You can arrive by train via Naples train station, Napoli Centrale. In Italy, there are two train companies - Italo and Trenitalia. Both companies run frequent high speed trains to Napoli Centrale. Once you arrive in Napoli Centrale, a private transfer or taxi/uber can bring you to Ravello. This drive is approximately 1 hour. Public Transportation

There is an affordable bus service that runs up and down the Amalfi Coast. However, please be prepared that during peak hours, buses may be delayed or crowded and make travelling with oversized luggage more challenging.
