Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Emily Fernald and Daniel Osborne
We're so excited to share a few of our favorite places in the area! Mount Desert Island is home to Acadia National Park. If you plan on doing any hiking or plan to spend time in the park, make sure you purchase your National Park Pass - the rangers will get you!
Cadillac Mountain

Cadillac Mountain

Bar Harbor, ME 04609

Whether it's sunrise (first place in the US) or sunset, Cadillac is the place to see it. Don't forget your National Park Pass and Cadillac Mountain vehicle registration.

Beech Mountain

Beech Mountain

Southwest Harbor, ME 04679

Beech Mountain is a favorite of ours, and guess what, it's right down the street from the wedding venue! It is a moderate hike with great views of Echo Lake (you can even extend your hike and connect to Echo Lake for a chilly September swim).

Beehive Mountain Loop

Beehive Mountain Loop

Beehive Trail, Bar Harbor, ME 04609

A favorite trail of the boys, this trail is one of Acadia's most famous and busiest. It has a spectacular view but you have to put in the work on this one! Why isn't it one of Emily's favorites? Part of the climb consists of rungs and ladders.

Seawall

Seawall

Southwest Harbor, ME 04679

Pack or grab lunch and head over to this popular spot in Southwest Harbor. On any of our trips we always make sure to make this a stop - watch the waves crash over the shore, test your eyes while you look for seaglass, or watch for wildlife in the bushes.

Thunder Hole

Thunder Hole

Bar Harbor, ME 04609

Aptly named, you can hear this popular spot from down the road. After you've hiked Beehive, take a little walk down the road to Thunder Hole - best experienced just before, during, or after a storm.

Bar Harbor Whale Watch Co

Bar Harbor Whale Watch Co

1 West Street, Bar Harbor, ME 04609
, (207) 288-2386

Catch a boat out to see the beautiful lighthouses, seals, puffins, whales, and much more!

Park Loop Road

Park Loop Road, ME

Not so much for hiking, but still want to experience Acadia? We suggest taking a leisurly drive through the park via the Park Loop Road. You'll see some amazing views of the ocean, mountains, and architecture of the old stone carriage roads and bridges.

Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf

Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf

368 Maine 3, Bar Harbor, ME 04609
, (207) 288-2133

A favorite pastime of ours...mini golf! Pirate's Cove is a family classic, one that we never miss while visiting.

Atlantic Brewing Company

Atlantic Brewing Company

15 Knox Road, Bar Harbor, ME 04609
, (207) 288-2337

Atlantic Brewing and Mainely Meats is another favorite of ours. Go for a brewery tour, listen to some live music, and eat some great BBQ, what more could you need? We recommend the Knox Rd location, but their Midtown location on Cottage St in Bar Harbor is just as fabulous!

Side Street Cafe

Side Street Cafe

49 Rodick Street, Bar Harbor, ME 04609
, (207) 801-2591

Side Street offers a variety of food choices, and all of them delicious.
