If you've ever volunteered with a nonprofit, you know the fundamentals of arrival include signing in. Daniel, being the rule breaker that he is, never paid mind to the sign in at the build site until a pushy volunteer coordinator wouldn't let go. He gave up, signed his name, and checked every interest box so he could start hammering. One day, an email arrives in his box: "I am reaching out to you because you expressed interest in joining the Homeowner Services Committee. We're having an orientation if you would like to find out more." The leader of that Homeowner Services Committee? Emily! First came colleagues, then came friendship, and after a period, finally partners. And guess what? Daniel "volunteers" now more than ever!
Unbeknownst to Emily, Daniel knew a proposal was attached to his Montana getaway Christmas gift to Emily. June came around and it was time for Daniel, Emily, and Ethan to take off on the great adventure out west. The first stop would be Columbia Falls on the Westside of Glacier National Park and the stay would be a little cabin on a farm overlooking the mountains. The second day of the trip, the gang hiked, explored town, and of course popped into a couple breweries. When they arrived back to the cabin, Daniel started the fire where hot dogs would be roasted, Emily joined him, and Ethan took advantage of alone time in the cabin. The two sat in their chairs fireside, reminiscing about the day, past adventures, and talked about the future. Just how we always do, whether it's around a fire, on one of our many drives, or sitting on the front porch. It was then that Daniel said he needed to check on something, little did Emily know, that something was the ring that flew with him across the country. Daniel came back out with a box, saying it was a gift, Emily, of course, inquiring why, and Daniel stating "do I need a reason?" Emily opened the box as her eyes filled with tears, turned to Daniel, and was posed with the question: "will you be my wife?" his eyes wet as well. And here we are. <3
