Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Emily Adele and Austin Jacob Howard
Glacier National Park is our favorite vacation spot we have ever stayed at, and we are so happy to be sharing the beauty with all of you! This is a list of all the hikes and site seeing in the area we loved when we were here last.
Avalanche Lake

Avalanche Lake

MT

We hiked this together the last time we were at Glacier National Park. We both fell in love with the views of the lake and the multiple waterfalls behind. This hike can be steep, so please wear good shoes, but it is totally worth the end. We recommend bringing something to snack on during the hike and plenty of water! The trail is 2.3 mi (3.7 km) long, with an elevation gain of 500 ft. Linked are the other hikes available around Lake McDonald Trailhead: Avalanche Picnic Area

Hidden Lake Overlook

Hidden Lake Overlook

MT

Out of all our hikes, this was Austin's personal favorite. We saw mountain goats and hiked through the glacial snow. Bring layers if you get chilly. Please watch for slipping on the snow/icy spots. The length of the hike is 1.4 mi (2.2 km), with an additional 1.2 miles (1.9 km) further taking you to Hidden Lake, dropping 780 ft in elevation from the Overlook if you are feeling ambitious. The hike just to the overlook has an elevation gain of 460 ft. Linked are all the other hikes you can do at Logan's Pass or St. Mary. We have our suggestion from Logan's Pass. Trailhead: Logan Pass Visitor Center

Apgar Bike Trail

Apgar Bike Trail

MT

This is a more accessible hike for the group. This hike is 1.5 mi and mostly level, on asphalt. This is a wheelchair friendly trail. The trail shows great views of the woodlands around the alpine part of the park. Trailhead: Asphalt path south of Apgar Backcountry Permit Office

West Glacier

West Glacier

West Glacier, MT

In Downtown West Glacier, MT, you will find little boutiques to shop at, such as Emily's personal favorite huckleberry stands and booths. There are restaurants, music, stores, and so much walking to do. The views of the alpine mountains are just gorgeous in the background!

Lake McDonald Lodge Loop

Lake McDonald Lodge Loop

Lake McDonald Lodge, MT 59936

Lake McDonald Lodge is a beautiful historic hotel on Lake McDonald. The sunsets on the benches by the water are to die for. Austin and Emily spent every Sunset at this location on their own trip. There are rental boats for $35 for anyone feeling adventurous. The colored pebbles from the glaciers surrounding in the clear water make this place so unique. The hotel itself is also worth a visit and offers dining options.
