Rånäs Castle

Rånäs Castle has rooms available for our guests to stay in. The majority of the guests will be able to stay here, but not all. If you are interested in staying at the castle, please reach out directly to Collin or Emilie and let us know how many nights you’d like to stay. Please do not contact or book through Rånäs Castle directly. The castle costs ~$130 per person/night (1295 SEK). You will pay upon check-out. If you're not staying at the castle, nearby options include Hotel Åtellet in Norrtälje and Johannesbergs Slott in Gottgöra. There are also plenty of hotels and Airbnbs around Stockholm, Uppsala, and Arlanda. We’ll confirm accommodations at the castle by April 1st, which is also our RSVP deadline.

Shuttle

Shuttle from downtown Stockholm to Rånäs Castle and back

On Friday 7/31, there will be a shuttle at downtown Stockholm taking you directly to the castle, and a shuttle from the castle on Sunday 8/2 will also be available after check out for those that want it, going directly back into the city. Do not forget to enter in the RSVP or tell us directly if you are taking the shuttle. Exact times and locations will be posted closer to the wedding date.

To get the closest to the venue, the airport you want to fly into is Stockholm Arlanda Airport.

Travel Note

Coming by car

Directions by Car From Stockholm: Drive north on the E18 towards Norrtälje. After approximately 40 km, at Roslagsstoppet, turn off towards Rimbo and Hallstavik (Road 280). After 6 km, look for signs towards Rimbo/Hallstavik. After another 6 km, in the center of Rimbo, turn right at the sign for Östhammar/Hallstavik, Road 280. After 2 km, turn left towards Knutby/Rånäs. Pass the first castle, which is called Ekebyholm. Drive the final 5 km, and Rånäs Castle will appear between the industrial buildings. From Northern Greater Stockholm: Drive north on the E4 towards Arlanda, take the exit for Arlanda, and follow signs towards Almunge, Road 273. At the roundabout to Road 77, turn right towards Norrtälje. 3 km after Gottröra, turn left towards Rånäs. After 10 km, turn right, and you will have arrived at Rånäs Castle. From Arlanda: Drive towards Almunge/Norrtälje on Road 273. At the roundabout to Road 77, turn right towards Norrtälje. 3 km after Gottröra, turn left towards Rånäs. After 10 km, turn right, and you will see the castle in all its glory. From Uppsala: Drive south on the E4 towards Stockholm, take the Knivsta exit, and turn left towards Norrtälje/Rimbo on Road 77. 3 km after Gottröra, turn left towards Rånäs. After 10 km, turn right, and you will have arrived at Rånäs Castle.

Coming by train or bus

It’s easy to get all the way to the castle using Stockholm County Traffic. For travel from Stockholm: Search for trips on sl.se, from Tekniska Högskolan to Rånäs Castle.

Cab information

If you want to pre-book a cab or book on the spot, Taxi Stockholm is the best option. You can either book on the website, or call number (+46) 08150000. Uber is also an option but it might take longer.
