Flight

Zurich, Switzerland (ZRH)

It is our recommendation to fly into Zurich Switzerland, the main Airport in Switzerland. We have the most experience flying through American Airlines (and British Airways). My favorite flight is a flight from Philadelphia to Zurich, which typically departs around 7:00pm leaving just enough time for dinner and a rest. You'll arrive around 10:00am Swiss time. The time change is 6 hours ahead making the day feel super long, but luckily you'll go to bed "early" and you'll never be short of EXCELLENT espresso.

Train

SBB Mobile

The easiest way to travel to Spiez from Flughafen Zürich (Zürich Airport) is by train. Download the SBB Mobile app on your phone for active connections. While straightforward, reviewing the app will help you get familiar with the common routes, especially if you choose to go without cellular connection while abroad. [Take note that in Europe the date will appear by day, month, year, wherein 19.06.2026 translates to June 19th, 2026]. On the SBB app train routes will appear by order of next departure. The number of dots on the timeline DOES NOT represent stops, rather how many train CHANGES are required. You will want to purchase a "full fare" ticket. "Half-fare" tickets may apply to children (reduced rate). Your ticket will cover your entire route (meaning you do not need to stop at another kiosk when you change trains, your full trip is already covered). The shortest route typically connects through Zürich HB (HB = Hauptbahnhof: "main station"). One route may look like Zürich Flughafen > Zürich HB (change to train for Direction Interlaken Ost) > Spiez). Tickets may be purchased on the app or at a kiosk (recommended). Next you'll look for the platform (Pl.) or "gleis" (German word for track) that matches your route that the train is departing. Once you board your train, find an area for your luggage (you may have to go upstairs which is no problem since you packed light :). Keep your ticket ready, the conductor will come by and punch it. For the full experience, greet them with "Gruetzi, ich spreche Englisch" or just tell them "Hello, here is my ticket". All speak English and are very friendly. They may ask for your passport but this is very unlikely.

Hotel

Hotel Eden Spiez

58 Seestrasse
Spiez, BE 3700, Switzerland
 +41 33 655 99 00

Manuel & Emilie recommend booking a two-night stay at Hotel Eden, which will serve as the primary location for the reception, afterparty, and farewell brunch. Guests should reserve their hotel rooms by directly e-mailing coordinator, Martina Seiler at meeting@eden-spiez.ch. Guests should include expected arrival and departures. Rates will vary from $325 (single rooms) to $420 (double rooms). The hotel is just a short walk from Schloss Spiez, where the ceremony and aperitif will take place. Hotel Eden has a world renowed spa for which guests may choose to access and join the bride for a spa day on 6/19/26. A brunch will be included for all guests to say farewell to the happy couple.
