Take a trip on the historic steam cog railway. The Brienz Rothorn Railway puffs along the mountain flank to the Planalp, past alpine meadows, streams, rocks and through sparse forests above the tree line to Rothorn Kulm. The route from the Brienz valley station to Rothorn Kulm is 7.6 kilometers long and takes one hour. The Planalp middle station is located halfway along the route - the ride there takes 30 minutes. The minimum time for a return trip to Rothorn Kulm is 2 hours and 30 minutes (return trip 2 hours and minimum stay 30 minutes).
