Maid of Honor
I met Jazz when I was 8 years old on 94A Ave, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. She quickly became the sister I never had, and we grew up side by side (literally). From running wild in the neighbourhood and relentlessly tormenting her little sister Maya, to celebrating every time we were reunited, she’s been a constant in my life. Now she has a baby and somehow we’ve become real adults… not entirely sure who approved that.
Bridesmaid
The sister I stole from Rob. I was first introduced to her family at her high school graduation and she immediately made me feel like part of the family. Over time she has become a part of some of my fondest memories, from camping trips in Tofino, to Disneyland and exploring New Zealand. She’s dangerously good at board games, and one of the funniest and most thoughtful people I know. I feel incredibly lucky to have her in my life, and I can’t wait for a lifetime of memories together as family.
Bridesmaid
Sab is one of my best friends from vet school, and she’s made being on the other side of the world feel like home. When I first met her, I genuinely laughed out loud at her idea of a “dream date”—an 18km run with a coffee stop along the way. Fast forward to now, and Rob and I have done that exact date more times than I can count… all thanks to her. She’s changed my life in the best way possible, and I can’t wait for us to be future colleagues and best friends forever
Bridesmaid
Another sister I’ve officially stolen from Rob (I’m on a roll at this point). Laura and I are so similar that our friendship was basically inevitable—we studied Biology together at UVic, ended up living together in Victoria, and somehow managed to keep choosing a similar life path right through to our professional degrees. She’s an instant good vibe and always my go-to for fashion advice. Having her not only as a friend, but as family feels like a dream come true.
Bridesmaid
Nat and I met on the first day of vet school, and it took about five minutes to realise this was going to be permanent. She is one of those people who is both the life of the party and also the most thoughtful person in the room. She always turns up with exactly the right energy (and a glass of wine when you need it most). She has been there for some big milestones in our lives, including our engagement in Sydney, which she somehow made even more special just by being there. I feel incredibly lucky to have her standing beside me.
Best Man
Friendship is celebrated in the good times but forged in the hard times, and I can honestly say Ad’s loyalty as a best friend, business partner, and now Best Man has never wavered. From studying WWII history to building and selling our window washing business, we’ve done a lot together, and now we continue that as partners at an M&A firm. We have been through plenty of great times and more than a few challenging ones, but through it all, one thing has remained constant: our ability to persevere through anything while laughing our asses off.
Groomsman
I’m truly honoured to call Jax one of my brothers. He’s probably one of the only people on the planet who can drop a bottle halfway up a 6 km, 12% climb—80 km into a ride—go back for it, and still rejoin the group smiling. Em and I briefly considered doing the Whistler Gran Fondo Race… the day before the wedding. We wanted others to join, but didn’t feel the need to formally ask Jax because I already knew the answer: I’m in. That pretty much sums up Jaxy to a T. Always up for an epic adventure and always shows up with a smile on his face.
Groomsman
I met Christian, also known as Tookie, on the first tee at Sun Rivers Golf Course and I knew right away we’d be best friends. And man, can he ever rip a golf ball. There were a couple summers in high school where we were basically inseparable. From sneaking out of a resort in Mexico at 16 to go partying, to “borrowing” PVC pipe from a construction site to build a ski rail on the golf course, Took’s been there for it all. Fifteen years later, living on opposite sides of the world, nothing’s changed—whether it’s been days or years, it feels like no time has passed.
Groomsman
Mitchy has been there through thick and thin. I can think of countless days he kept me company when Em and I first moved to New Zealand and I did not know anyone. Whether we are hanging out in person or on opposite ends of the planet, Mitchy has always been there for me. Our friendship really solidified when he moved to Victoria—we spent a lot of time together, worked through plenty of adversity, and now talk almost daily. Whatever he’s into—art, business, jiu jitsu, or friendship—he goes all in. Thats why I’m honoured to have him as a groomsman.
Groomsman
I’ve known Mac since Mr. Araki’s Grade 4 class at Dallas Elementary, where we quickly became friends playing full-contact soccer and football at recess. Mac’s been part of more than a few unforgettable memories—like getting caught sneaking out to a party by my mom, or after we nearly crashed my car into a lady’s SUV in the Market Fresh Foods parking lot just two hours after I got my new drivers permit. Looking back, I’m mostly just grateful we’re both still alive and have many memories to look back and laugh about.
Honorary Flower Child
Our honorary flower girl, Evee, will unfortunately not be in attendance due to ongoing concerns about her volume control and commitment to absolute mayhem. She’ll be celebrating the marriage of her parents from the comfort of her Airbnb—feel free to catch her at the after party, where she’ll be wreaking havoc as usual.
