The Wilmington Riverwalk parallels the Cape Fear River in historic downtown Wilmington. It is an exciting way to explore the downtown shops, public parks, restaurants, and museums along the scenic inter-coastal waterway.
The Cargo District
The Cargo District is an eclectic urban community where the buildings are made out of repurposed shipping containers. We love to walk around the district and to visit their retail shops, restaurants, and bars.
Bull City Ciderworks-ILM & Pig City Brewing Co.
Our family loves this place. The cider is luscious (seriously, no other way to describe), they also have great selection of draft beers for the non-cider drinkers.
Hi-Wire Brewing - Wilmington
Hi-Wire Brewing is another DeBerry family favorite. They have a variety of games including table tennis, foosball, shuffleboard, and more. For those who love convenience and pizza, you can order take-out from their neighbors at Cugino Forno and bring it to the taproom to eat.
Airlie Gardens
Locals and travel guides agree Arlie Gardens is a must see and a short 20 minute drive from downtown Wilmington. Airlie’s historic property encompasses more than 67 acres of spectacular gardens, seasonal blooms, mighty live oaks, walking trails and historic structures. Spring is a wonderful time to visit when the flowers are in full bloom. The self-guided walking experience allows visitors to explore more than a dozen gardens; including the Pergola, Minnie Evans Bottle Chapel & a seasonal Butterfly House.
