Mystic Seaport
Historic seaport and shipyard with period crafts. Great for all ages.
Mystic Aquarium
Really good aquarium. Fish, beluga whales, penguins, seals. Great for kids but also fun for adults.
Mashantucket Pequot Museum
Native American history museum. The walk-in diorama room is a must-see!
Harkness Memorial State Park
Site of the ceremony and reception, and probably our favorite local place! Check out the beach if you haven't already!
The Book Barn
Massive selection at very low prices! Their main location has fiction, history, thrillers, and more - even a petting zoo! It's also just fun to wander around through their complex. They also have two other locations with different selections, close by in Niantic.
Rocky Neck State Park
Another great state park in the area. Harkness is our favorite, but Rocky Neck is also worth a visit. Beautiful sandy beach as well as rocky areas.
Connecticut College Arboretum
We met at Connecticut College and spent a lot of time in the Arboretum. There's a beautiful short walk around the pond as well as more extensive paths in the fenced and unfenced parts of the Arbo.
