What to Wear & What to Pack Seattle in mid-August is typically mild and lovely, with temperatures in the low-to-mid 70s°F during the day and cooling off in the evening—especially by the water. Attire for the Day: The brunch will be semi-formal/formal and outdoors. We suggest cocktail attire—suits or dress pants with a button-up shirt (tie or bowtie), or dresses, jumpsuits, or separates in light, breathable fabrics. This will be solid ground so heels are safe! Elle wouldn't have it any other way. We are all for a bright, happy, coordinated feel. Don't be afraid to wear colors complimentary to the events (Think pinks, oranges, peaches, soft purples and hints of blue).

Keep the formal - But add a jacket and flats!
Attire for Sailing: We’ll be heading out on the water later in the day, where the temperature can dip and breezes pick up. We recommend bringing a light sweater, wrap, or blazer, and flats or boat-friendly shoes. Think chic layers that will keep you warm while still photo-ready! Heels are not allowed on the boat. We will have welcome bags with you can toss your fancy shoes into before hopping on! Kids are absolutely allowed on the boat! That being said, we understand keep an eye on them while sailing may not be an easy feat! If we have enough interest, we will add a qualified sitter to stay at the hotel with all our kiddos during this time. Please let us know! Packing Tips for Travelers: A light jacket or sweater for cool evenings Comfortable shoes for exploring the city or walking on deck Sunglasses and sunscreen—Seattle sun can sneak up on you A packable rain jacket, just in case (this is the Pacific Northwest) A camera or phone with space for lots of pictures—you’ll want them!

This is completely optional - no obligation in any sense, open to any of our guests. We hope that many of you take in the sites and beauty of the PNW during your visit. Should that include a trek to our house, we'd also love to spend extra time with you. It is about 35 (Can be 45 with traffic) Out of the city- But a beautiful drive into equestrian property and mountain views - Easily on the return from the passes or on your way to the upper islands. We will be BBQing and relaxing!
