Maroon Bells

Maroon Bells

As one of the most photographed mountains in North America, a trip to the Bells is definitely worth your time and effort while in Aspen. The 14,000 ft peaks tower above maroon lake, offering some of the most spectacular views in the world. Get there by ebike or shuttle. Make sure to book your shuttle ahead of time since the summer months tend to book up.

***For all hikes, remember you are at a high elevation. Make sure to bring water, snacks, sunscreen, a hat, and proper footwear. Smuggler Mountain: Walking distance from town, this trail takes you up a dirt road for the best views of Aspen. 3 miles roundtrip Ute Trail: A challenging, narrow 6.2 mile trail right outside of Aspen. Recommended for experienced hikers. Crater Lake: A beautiful option once you are at Maroon Bells. The 3.8 mile trail begins at Maroon Lake and while rocky and steep in sections, overall it's rated as an intermediate trail. Rio Grande Trail: An easy, paved trail you can walk, hike, run or bike along. The trail follows the corridor of the historic Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad.

With incredible mountain biking, road biking, and miles of bike paths ideal for cruising, there's no better place to get outside on two wheels than Aspen Snowmass. Get your adrenaline pumping on some on-mountain downhill trails at Snowmass bike park or simply cruise around the picturesque valley and enjoy the sights. Pro Tip: E-bike along the Rio Grande Trail to Woody Creek Tavern. Enjoy margaritas and lunch before heading back to town, approximately 16 miles roundtrip E-bike Rentals: Silver City Cycles

If you are getting into town early, the Thursday Snowmass concert is a must! It takes place on Snowmass mountain with a gorgeous view of the valley. Arrive in Snowmass early to park in the parking structure and take the small gondola up. Or take the RFTA bus directly to the snowmass mall.

Stroll through the market set up in the heart of town for locally grown produce and artisan products. Open on Saturdays from 8:30 AM- 2 PM, the market offers Colorado grown fruits, vegetables, bread, meats, jams, and more as well as a food court for lunch or a snack. Pro Tip: buy the kettle corn.

The gondola to the top of Aspen Mountain offers a stunning view of the town of Aspen, as well as a plethora of activities once you reach the top. A gondola ticket is $33. Pro Tip: Snag a red gondola and play your own music via bluetooth for the ride up and down.
