Question

What is a week of love?

Answer

Our week of love is our concept to get the people that we love to come out to Jackson, the place that we love! Instead of a single wedding reception, we have planned out a week long itinerary so that we can spend quality time with everyone while partaking in various adventures! Fortunately, we live in a beautiful vacation destination so our hope is that you will make this trip into a vacation full of the activities and adventures that you desire.

Question

Do I have to stay for the entire week?

Answer

We encourage you to make this trip into your own vacation! Whether that means that you come for a long weekend, stay for a week or two, or tie this into a cross-country road trip, the journey is up to you. We understand that our home is difficult to get to, and encourage you to take advantage of the trip by exploring all that Jackson and the surrounding area has to offer! Grand Teton National Park is only a few minutes away from our town and the south entrance of Yellowstone National Park is only an hour away.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

For our main event, please RSVP as soon as possible so that we know you are coming to our Week of Love. For the other events, feel free to RSVP and then modify the response later as your travel plans develop.

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

Most likely, yes. Jackson can be navigated by a free town shuttle (bus) system and buses are available to other local towns like Teton Village, Wilson, and Victor, Idaho. However, if you plan to go to Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park, or anywhere outside of the bus network then renting a car will likely be best. Rideshare services like Uber and Lyft can be unreliable.

Question

Where should I eat?

Answer

There are a lot of options for restaurants in downtown Jackson, some of our favorites by meal: BREAKFAST: - The Virginian Restaurant - classic diner style, owned by a lovely local family, often crowded so plan extra time for a wait. $ - Persephone Bakery - French style bakery, this is a must hit for the best pastries, coffee, and cute vibes. They also have a location south of town called Picnic, and one in Wilson called Persephone West Bank. $$ - Cafe Genevieve - set in a cute historic cabin Cafe G offers slightly elevated diner style breakfast and lunch options. $$ LUNCH: - Creekside Market - located on the north end of town, this is a great grab and go option where you can build your own sandwich or grab a salad to go. Hands down the best deli style sandwich in town. $$ - Sweet Cheeks Meats - everyday their menu changes and features a variety of local meats. They have tables outside to sit at, otherwise this is a great grab and go option. $ - Healthy Being Juicery and Cafe - right next to the History Museum this is the best place to grab a lighter lunch option. Elizabeth loves the Green Goddess smoothie and the avocado toast. They have nice salads and sandwiches too! $$ DINNER: - The Bistro - located in the Cloudveil Hotel, The Bistro is a French inspired restaurant with our favorite cocktails in town! Even if you don't want to have dinner here, its super fun to go grab a cocktail from the bar and chill in the lobby (think trendy mountain Instagram influencer vibes). They also have a rooftop deck with small plates and a bar, the hours vary depending on private events so its good to call ahead or watch social media. $$$ - Annie's Thai Kitchen - this is our go to for Thai take out, you can also eat in. $$ - Stillwest Brewery - near Snow King, good food, good beer, good vibes. $$ - Fiesta Mexican - our favorite Mexican food in town, its a bit of a dive but sooooo delicious! Try the Margaritas. $$ - Bin 22 - great small bites and wine selection! $$

Question

What is the best way to get around town?

Answer

If staying in town, check with your hotel - they may have bikes to borrow. Biking is an excellent way to navigate our immediate area and we have an extensive bike path system. The town shuttle is operated by START Bus and is free! There are dozens of stops around town and the Corner Creek stop is our neighborhood stop.

Question

Is there parking for the reception?

Answer

No, there is no designated parking for the Jackson Hole History Museum. If lodging in town, consider walking to the venue or utilizing the free town shuttle. Parking is available at various free parking lots around town, but expect these to be busy.

Question

What wildlife is around Jackson?

Answer

Jackson is known for its abundant wildlife. Always be on the lookout for moose, elk, pronghorn antelope, mule deer, bald eagles, and osprey. Both black bears and grizzly bears can be seen in Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone. Bison are abundant in Yellowstone and a small herd can usually be seen in the Elk Ranch Flats area of Grand Teton National Park. Note that while the National Elk Refuge is located adjacent to the town of Jackson, this is a natural elk refuge during the winter and will not have any elk present during the summer when they migrate north to the national parks.

Question

What are the food storage rules?

Answer

Wow, what an incredibly insightful question! At any time it is important to not leave food unattended. When in both Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park, food may be kept inside hard-sided cars (coolers in the bed of a pickup truck is not permitted, for example) which is different than other areas like Yosemite. If going into the backcountry, consult with the permit office on specific food storage requirements.

Question

What is mountain chic?

Answer

We encourage you to express yourself and wear what you feel good in. But for those who need direction, a sport coat, a vest, button up, or nice jeans are all great! For the ladies, a sundress, printed dress, or Western-inspired skirt with sandals or cowboy boots is great. Rings, bracelets, necklaces, and earrings are great additions the look. Question

What should I bring?

Answer

In addition to the obvious travel essentials, we recommend bringing the following: - Shoes to hike in - comfortable sneakers with good support are fine - Binoculars - Clothing for all weather. Highs in the low 80s and lows in the upper 40s should be expected. With our lack of humidity, once the sun sets the temperatures drop drastically.

Question

How do I deal with the altitude in Jackson?

Answer

The town of Jackson is located at 6,120' above sea level which can be noticeable if traveling from sea level. It is not uncommon to be a bit more out of breath than usual when climbing stairs or hiking than you are otherwise accustomed to. We strongly suggest the following: 1) Drink a lot of water - it is extremely dry here and the elevation will dehydrate you 2) Wear sunscreen!! We are 6,120' closer to the sun than you are when you are at the beach! The sun is extremely strong here and you can easily get burnt within a few minutes of being outside without protection. We do not suggest purchasing a can of oxygen. Using something like this is a short-lived solution and ultimately is going to hurt your ability to acclimate.

Question

I am camping, where can I shower?

Answer

Teton County Recreation Center, in Jackson: $22 includes access to full facility including rock climbing gym, workout facilities, pool, and hot tub. Signal Mountain Campground, Grand Teton National Park 45 mins to Jackson: $6 Colter Bay Campground, Grand Teton National Park 1 hour to Jackson: $6
