The only national park in America with a focus on conservation history and land stewardship. The park preserves the mansion and the lands where the Marsh, Billings and Rockefeller families lived and where a managed forest and a progressive dairy farm were established. The mansion looks as it did when the Rockefellers left it in 1997 and contains the largest private collection of Hudson River School art in the country. Tour the mansion and the sunken garden. The park contains over 20 miles of carriage roads and hiking trails.

Located at The Mill in Quechee. Watch master glassblowers at work downstairs in the hydro-powered studio. While downstairs, walk outside to the balcony overlooking the waterfalls and Quechee Covered Bridge. Visit the upstairs shop featuring this exquisite glassware. They also have a restaurant and bar onsite that we recommend.
View this mile-long, 165’ deep gorge from the bridge on Route 4. Then walk the riverside trail downstream to the cliffs where swimmers jump into the rushing water and to the calmer swimming pools beyond.

The view from the summit encompasses panoramic views of the town, the Ottaquechee River and the mountains beyond. --Walk the easy three-mile Ottaquechee River Trail. Accessed from East End Park. Sections of the Appalachian Trail are easily accessed just outside of town.
--The area has great paved and dirt roads for road biking. --Single-track mountain bike trails are accessible from town on the Mt Peg trail system. --The Aqueduct Trail system has over 10 miles of mountain bike and hiking trails and is accessible from Cox District Rd., Woodstock. --Lift-serviced downhill and cross-country mountain biking is available at Killington Ski Area. Thirty miles of trails are serviced by three high-speed lifts. Beginner to expert. --Thirty-five miles of marked single- and double-track mountain bike trails for all levels are available at Ascutney Mountain in Brownsville.

Visit president Calvin Coolidge’s birthplace (July 4,1872), boyhood home and the place where he was sworn in as the 30th president by his father in 1923 following Warren Harding’s untimely death. Historic buildings are open to the public, including the building where Coolidge was born.
Located in Plymouth Notch in the Coolidge Homestead. This cheesemaking operation was started by Calvin Coolidge’s father and is one of the country’s oldest. It’s now a National Historic Landmark. View the small cheesemaking museum, see cheese making demonstrations and purchase cheese, wine and other items in the small store.
