Our Silly Sweet Story

A friends to lovers romcom, that would make for a terrible story because there was never any drama.

Jae and I met through mutual friends at the wee ages of 19 and 20. But we have both agreed that our story really started on July 28, 2016 (my 20th birthday, in case you needed a reminder). With the help of some old-fashioned underage drinking, except not for Jae because he's old, we spent the entirety of that night talking while Jae's friend Devon was passed out on the couch beside us. What did we talk about, you might ask? Well, everything. Nothing. Life. Death. Baseball. You get the idea. That night basically sealed the deal. However, we didn't actually make it official until almost a full year later. Jae was going to Chico State and I was trying to figure out life as a soon to be college drop-out in Santa Rosa and so we built a friendship in the time between. On April 16, 2017 Jae took me on our first official date to a Giants vs. Rockies game in the rain. Our seats were down the first baseline, the Giants lost, and Carlos Gonzalez made a miraculous play in right field to end the game. Despite the dreary weather and the Giants’ loss, it was perfection. Flash forward to today, eight years, no, nine years later, so many things have changed. We moved to Colorado in 2020 where we now only get to watch Giants vs. Rockies games in person (was it foreshadowing?), Jae has dug into his career at his family's long-standing business, I graduated college, we bought and moved into our dream home, Jae has found a new love for Matchbox 20 and Oasis, and I have finally started my career as a technical editor while still being a diehard Swiftie. Moral of the story here is that while so many things have changed in the near decade that we have been together, we have always been constant and solid. We've experienced a lot of life in these nine years and we can't wait to celebrate that life, and the future, with our most cherished people. It's been a long time coming and we can't wait to see you there.
