Enjoy sailing on the first and only Private Catamaran Charter on the Hudson River, New York Harbor and East River. Highlights include the Empire State Building, Hudson Yards, Freedom Tower, Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty, Governors Island, and the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges!
I couldn't NOT recommend the Staten Island Ferry.... it's FREE and you get the absolute best views of the Statue of Liberty, the lower Manhattan skyline, and the Brooklyn Bridge! The best part is, once you get to the Staten Island side, you can just turn right back around to Manhattan.
The Oculus is a transportation hub and shopping mall built alongside the One World Trade Center. It also acts as a subway station, and you can take trains in and out of it. It's very architectural and futuristic and worth a quick walk through if you are in the area.
One of my favorite things to do is walk across the Brooklyn Bridge (it's not too strenuous, we promise, and hey - when in New York do as the New Yorkers do: walk!) and go to Ignazio's pizzeria - equally as good as the famous Grimaldi's but there's hardly ever a wait! The Brooklyn waterfront is a nice place to hangout too.
I (Elizabeth) went here with my Aunt Elsie years ago and it left such an impression. It serves traditional French fare and is on one of the most quaint blocks in the West Village. You can enjoy anything from a morning espresso to a late night digestif here. I hope one of you gets to try it!
SoHo, Tribeca, the West Village, Greenwich Village, Chelsea, and the Financial District are the closest neighborhoods to where you would likely be taking a ferry or train to from Jersey City. They all have a lot to offer and are worth exploring! Jersey City and Hoboken (both in New Jersey) also have a lot to offer - you can find those recommendations below!
