Travel & Accomodation

DESTINATION WEDDING CHECKLIST: 1) Check your Passport expiration date and renew if needed. 2) Book flights. Look into using (Flights.Google.com) or (SkyScanner.com) to book travel. 3) Book housing accommodation. See below for hotel block details. 4) Book trains/bus/rental car (*we'd recommend not renting a car as Brighton is an easy train ride from London). Most credit cards have collision coverage for rental car insurance, so look at your credit card incentives to identify whether you have international coverage. If you choose to forego a rental car, there are several bus/train options from London. 5) Review health insurance and consider whether you need international coverage. (Come August, there's a good chance you will need to be vaccinated to travel internationally). 6) Review your international phone plan and notify your cell provider prior to leaving the country. 7) Make a packing list and check it twice! (Don't forget the power outlet converters)

Flight

Int'l Airports in London

1. Heathrow 2. Gatwick 3. Stansted Any of the above are fairly easy to get to Brighton. London Heathrow has the most international flights, while London Gatwick is closest in relation to Brighton (a short 35-minute train ride south). If you plan to spend a day or two in London before the wedding, we recommend booking the cheapest flight option as each airport is easy to get into central London. We would suggest taking the train into central London and grabbing a train to Brighton - traffic in London is too difficult to navigate, so public transportation is the best option. If you plan to travel after the wedding, flying out of London Gatwick is very convenient as its only a 35-minute train ride from Brighton.

Train

Train from London to Brighton

There are several trains that run from London (Victoria Station) to Brighton each day. We highly suggest the train for travel to/from Brighton (via Southern Railway - linked below). The train station is a central location in Brighton - you can choose to walk about 10-20 minutes to the hotel or easily take an Uber/Taxi. Once you are in Brighton, you can walk, taxi or Uber most places. We have reached out to the train provider to see if we can get a group discount - we will update with a group promo code if they do give us a discount.

Additional Hotel Blocks

Through our wedding website (Zola), we have set up some additional negotiated group rates at various Brighton hotels, if you prefer to stay elsewhere than the Grand Brighton (where the reception will take place). These rates are special group rates that are typically very large discounts that are not available to the general public. The rates can fluctuate and sell out at any time, so book sooner than later.
