One of the most fun and easy ways to explore Catalina Island is by golf cart! You can rent one right in town and cruise around. Rentals are usually for 1–2 hours, and no reservation is needed—but they can go quickly on weekends, so we recommend grabbing one earlier in the day!
This open-air beer garden is one of our favorite places to hangout or kill a bit of time — it's easy, casual, and right across from the Atwater Hotel. Eli and I have spent many afternoons playing gin rummy and sipping cold beers.
A fun, laid-back spot loved by locals—and one of Eli and Eliza’s favorites. If you’re looking for a lunch with fresh seafood and a relaxed island vibe, this is a great go-to.
The island’s scenic golf course is a great option if you're looking to get a round in while you're here. We recommend booking a tee time for Friday if you're interested, as a tournament on Saturday morning may limit availability.
Right on the main strip, Avalon Grille is one of our favorite places for a pre-dinner cocktail or leisurely lunch. The drinks are great, and the atmosphere is elegant but relaxed—ideal for soaking in the island vibe before the evening festivities.
This guided tour is a wonderful way to explore Catalina beyond Avalon and learn about the island’s unique history and wildlife. My parents took it and couldn’t stop raving—highly recommended for anyone curious about the island’s background.
NDMK is a casual, fresh spot for sushi, poke, and seafood—perfect for a laid-back lunch or midday bite. Comes highly recommended!
