There are a few options for getting to the island, and all of them come with a bit of adventure! You can fly into LAX and take the Long Beach Catalina Express, or fly into John Wayne Airport and take the Catalina Flyer out of Newport Beach. Please note that ferry departures from Newport are more limited, so plan accordingly. For those looking to arrive in style (or if you get particularly sea sick), helicopter service is also available from several Southern California locations. We highly recommend staying on the island for the weekend, as the ferries do not run late. All ferry information, including schedules and booking links, can be found on the Travel page of this website.
The ferry ride takes approximately one hour from either Long Beach or Newport Beach.
Yes, ferry reservations are strongly recommended as space is limited and popular times tend to fill quickly. Please visit the Travel page for links and guidance on booking.
Catalina is delightfully walkable. Once you disembark the ferry, you'll find that nearly everything is within walking distance or just a short golf cart ride away. A luggage service will be available upon arrival to transport your bags to the Atwater Hotel, which is a quick walk from the ferry terminal. Golf carts are available to rent if you would like to explore - details on the Catalina Activities page.
Yes! While the ceremony location is walkable from the Atwater Hotel, we will be providing transportation to and from the venue for your comfort and convenience. There will not be transportation provided for the Friday Welcome Dinner, but the venue is just down the street from the hotel.
We’ve reserved the entire Atwater Hotel for our guests, and we would love for you to stay there with us! All booking details are available on the Travel page. Staying at the Atwater will make it easy to attend all the weekend’s events and enjoy time together.
We recommend arriving on Friday morning or early afternoon to settle in and join us for the Welcome Dinner that evening. The wedding is on Saturday, and ferries resume Sunday morning, so a Friday–Sunday stay is ideal to enjoy the full weekend without feeling rushed. Check the ferry schedule on the Travel page when planning your travel times!
Friday Welcome Party: Island Chic. Think elevated resort wear — fun, festive, and appropriate for a coastal evening. Wedding Ceremony and Reception: Black Tie, which means this is your moment for old-Hollywood elegance meets island glamour. Gentlemen: Tuxedos or sharp suits, please. Gals: Dress to impress in a floor-length or elegant cocktail dress. And don’t forget: we’ll be celebrating on grass, so choose your shoes accordingly.
We truly wish we could celebrate with everyone, but due to limited space, we’re only able to accommodate the guests listed on the invitation. Thank you for understanding.
We love your little ones, but this will be an adults-only celebration. We hope it will feel like a special weekend getaway for all of our guests.
