We're getting married!

During a night out in Phoenix with mutual friends, Connor and Elise met under the dark lights at The Little Woody Bar. Connor had just returned from a vacation where he basked in the Michigan sun, and Elise's friend complimented his tan, to which Elise snidely responded with "You think that's a tan?". After 4 tequila shots, Connor finally worked up the courage and shyly asked Elise if Brits had cell phones and if so, could he get her number. Flattered but also pitying him, Elise gave over her number and told him never to call because of international fees. Regardless, Connor called the next day to invite her to watch him play baseball for 5 hours in the blistering heat. Bizarrely, Elise agreed and went to watch her first of many baseball games to come.

After 4 years together, Connor and Elise had survived the COVID lockdown, roadtripped over 5,000 miles, spent every holiday with one another's family and even bought their first home. At this point, every nervous tick, idiosyncrasy and annoying habit had been discovered and adored. Over a week of subtle clues and little hints lead Elise to firmly believe a proposal was imminent. It's a well-known fact that Connor is a terrible secret keeper and he was clearly uncomfortable trying not to spill the beans. The morning of the proposal, Connor asked Elise which jeans she thought he should wear to "date-night" (his cover story for the main event) and so she chose an outfit for him, as she does everyday, but Connor protested "I don't have good mobility in these jeans" Elise retaliated, "Well, you're not running a marathon!" and she promptly left the room to make a cuppa tea. Connor then tried on the jeans assuming she was still in the kitchen when he got down on one knee and practised proposing. Little did he know, Elise saw the whole thing and silently backed out of the room again, holding back the laughter. Later that day, Connor awaited Elise under the shadow of Camelback mountain at sunset, with an acoustic guitarist playing in the background. He fell to his knee and proposed as photographers captured this beautiful moment. It was utter perfection and made the weeks of anticipation and secrets worth it!
