Airports

Chicago is serviced by two major airports: O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and Midway International Airport (MDW). While Midway is slightly closer to downtown, O’Hare is often the most convenient option for travelers, as it is serviced by all major airlines and offers the widest range of nonstop flights. Both airports are easily accessible from downtown Chicago via Uber or Lyft—approximately 30–45 minutes from O’Hare and 20–35 minutes from Midway, depending on time of day and traffic. Public transportation is also available; however, for late-night arrivals or departures, we recommend using a rideshare service rather than the CTA Blue for O'Hare or Orange Line for Midway for added comfort and convenience.

All wedding events will take place along Chicago’s Magnificent Mile. For ease and convenience, we recommend staying in the Gold Coast, River North, or Streeterville neighborhoods. While we will have a limited room block available at The Drake Hotel, there are many wonderful hotel options at a variety of price points nearby. We’ve included a few additional recommendations below to help you explore other accommodations.

From the rise of the Magnificent Mile to its famed Afternoon Tea—served continuously since the 1920s—the hotel has been a gathering place for generations of Chicagoans and visitors alike. Over the years, it has welcomed royalty, world leaders, and Hollywood legends including Queen Elizabeth II, Winston Churchill, Princess Diana, Marilyn Monroe, and Frank Sinatra. With its storied halls, lakefront views, and timeless elegance, The Drake reflects the romance, history, and enduring spirit of Chicago itself—an unforgettable setting to continue our love story. Our wedding reception will take place at The Drake Hotel. A limited room block has been reserved for our guests at a discounted rate. The room block will be posted 10-11 months out. If the room block is no longer available at the time of booking, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us—we may be able to add additional rooms. The ceremony location is conveniently located directly across Michigan Ave.

A boutique-style hotel located directly across the street from Hunter and Elisa’s first apartment in Chicago, making it especially meaningful to us. It has been a frequent stay for both of our families over the years and is just a short walk to the church and The Drake Hotel.

This hotel on the Magnificent Mile is where Hunter and Elisa stayed for admitted student's day at Loyola Law School and to search for their first Chicago apartment. Located just a short walk from Fourth Presbyterian Church and The Drake Hotel, it offers easy, walkable convenience for our wedding weekend, along with quick access to the shopping, dining, and energy of downtown Chicago.
