In April 2015, Matt was working as an accountant in Vineland with his father while Eleni was working as a pediatric nurse in Philadelphia. The two matched on a dating app since Matt was living in an apartment in Eleni's hometown. After going back and forth with some flirty messages, Matt asked Eleni out on a date. She replied, "I'd love to! But it will have to wait a few weeks until I'm back in the country," since she was on a trip to Australia visiting her brother. Matt was willing to wait, and the two had their first date on the outdoor patio at Catelli Duo in Voorhees, NJ. They played it casual for a few months and kept their relationship pretty quiet. That continued until they took their first vacation as a couple and decided it was time to introduce each other to their families & friends. It was after that fateful trip that Eleni & Matt became inseparable. The following May they moved in together with their dog (Luna) to their family beach house on the bay in Brigantine, NJ. Since then, the two have celebrated countless occasions, trips, and dates as a couple.

Flash forward five years and another doodle (Apollo) later, Matt realized it was finally time to seal the deal. On Eleni's 31st birthday, Matt surprised Eleni with a beautiful diamond ring at their favorite spot--home! The proposal was complete with their favorite song playing in the background and personalized decorations. They had reservations at the Chart House to celebrate the special occasion. The celebrations continued two days later on Mother's Day when Eleni & Matt surprised their parents after keeping it a secret until they could share the news in person.

After touring wedding venues, Eleni & Matt decided that the Reeds at Shelter Haven was the place they wanted to tie the knot. This boutique, bayside hotel in Stone Harbor offered sunset views similar to their bayside home in Brigantine. It offers the opportunity to spend the weekend with their friends & family without having to travel too far. The two can't wait to celebrate with their family & friends in Stone Harbor in 2022!
