House-Museum of Todor Zhivkov

You can visit the birth house of Todor Zhivkov who was a Bulgarian politician who served as the de facto leader of the People's Republic of Bulgaria (PRB) from 1954 until 1989 as General Secretary of the Bulgarian Communist Party. Apart from the house, you can see a collection of gifts he has received as a head of state. At the end of the city, centre, next to teh Sports Centre you can also see his monument.

Prohodna Cave

Prohodna is the most beautiful karst cave in north central Bulgaria, located in the Iskar Gorge near the village of Karlukovo. The main sight here are the "two huge eyes" on the roof of the cave - the eyes of supernatural power.
