In 2015 a beachy babe from Southern California wandered into a sporting goods store looking for a job. Elena was greeted by a strapping young outdoorsman who was local to Ann Arbor and originally hailed from Peru. Two people unlikely to meet happened to be in the right place at the right time to fall in love. What’s even more remarkable about the couple’s story is that it spans countries and continents to remind us just how limitless love can be. After spending two semesters taking walks through the Arb, partying with friends, and saying “I love you” for the first time outside of “Burrito Joint,” it was time for Elena to make her way back to Los Angeles. The duo made the decision to stick it out through long distance after Elena accepted her first post-grad job in New York City. Ultimately, David agreed to move away from his home, his job, and his friends in Ann Arbor to New York City in order to put an end to the trials and tribulations the couple had been enduring due to distance. Of course, life is never shy to throw a wrench into anyone’s plans. Right before the big move, Elena was laid off from her corporate job in the city. At this point, nothing could stop David and Elena from pursuing love. They quickly pivoted and packed their bags for Elena’s hometown outside of LA. They spent the next year living in Calabasas with Elena’s mom Jane. Throughout that year, David became like a son to Jane and Elena’s closest childhood friends got to know him for his goofy sense of humor, thoughtful nature, and adventurous spirit. Finally, it was time for the couple to take off on a new path that they would follow together. They hopped around from beach town to beach town, starting in Redondo Beach where they signed their first joint lease, and then they chased work opportunities down to San Diego. Amidst the pandemic, David and Elena’s relationship was tested but only grew stronger when they adopted their first fur baby, Ollie. Raising a puppy together opened their hearts to a new kind of love, and it was clear that the little family could handle anything life threw at them. Hand in hand, they followed an inclination that told them to move toward the snow-covered Rocky Mountains. Now, they happily reside in Colorado Springs in a home where they love to have a good time, do puzzles, host friends and family, and make meals together. They even expanded the pack this year when they adopted their second pup, Maya Grae. See you on the dance floor on 4/20/24!

En el 2015, una chica playera del sur de California entró en una tienda outdoor aplicando a una oferta laboral. Elena fue recibida por un joven amante de la adrenalina, oriundo de Perú. Dos personas que probablemente no se encontrarían estaban en el lugar correcto en el momento correcto para enamorarse. Después de pasar dos semestres paseando en Michigan, festejando con amigos y diciendo "Te amo" por primera vez afuera de su sitio de bajada de medianoche,"Burrito Joint", era hora de que Elena regresara a Los Ángeles. El dúo tomó la decisión de aguantar la larga distancia después de que Elena aceptó su primer trabajo de posgrado en la ciudad de Nueva York. Finalmente, David decidió cerrar el capitulo en Ann Arbor y decir adios a su temporal hogar y a sus amigos para ir a Nueva York para poner fin a las pruebas que la pareja había estado pasando debido a la distancia. Por supuesto, la vida siempre tiene sorpresas y justo antes de la gran mudanza, Elena fue despedida de su trabajo corporativo en la ciudad y eso trajo un cambio de planes! A estas alturas, David y Elena solo querían estar juntos y rápidamente ajustaron los planes y empacaron sus maletas y manejaron a Los Ángeles donde Elena creció. Pasaron el siguiente año viviendo en Calabasas con Jane, la mamá de Elena. A lo largo de ese año, David se convirtió en uno mas de la familia y amigos más cercanos de Elena Finalmente, llegó el momento de que la pareja tomara un nuevo camino.. Saltaron de una ciudad costera a otra, comenzando en Redondo Beach donde firmaron su primer depa juntos, y luego persiguieron oportunidades de trabajo hacia San Diego. En medio de la pandemia, la relación de David y Elena se puso a prueba, pero solo se fortaleció cuando adoptaron a su primer perrijo, Ollie. Criar a un cachorro juntos abrió sus corazones a un nuevo tipo de amor, y estaba claro que la pequeña familia podía transitar juntos los desafíos de la vida Buscando espacios de esparcimiento y aires nuevos, siguieron una corazonada que les decía que se dirigieran hacia la zona de montanas de Estados Unidos. Ahora, residen felices en Colorado Springs en un hogar donde les encanta pasarla bien, y recibir a amigos y familiares y preparar comidas juntos, (ya saben). Incluso ampliaron la manada este año cuando adoptaron a Maya, una Weimaraner con cariño infinito. Nos vemos en Abril del 2024!
