National Mall
There is so much to do on the National Mall! There are lots of museums and monuments to explore, such as the National Gallery of Art, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Botanical Gardens. You can also get great views of the Capitol and White House. If you want a more specific plan, please reach out and ask us!
Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in America
Located at our reception site, the Franciscan Monastery is worth visiting on its own. There is a recreation of many famous sites in the Holy Land such as the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Catacombs.
Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception
The National Basilica is beautiful and worth visiting. It is also close to the Franciscan Monastery, so you could possibly visit both in one day.
Old Town
Old Town is super fun to walk around in during the summer! There are lots of cute stores, restaurants, and fun places on the waterfront. There are also farmer's markets certain days.
Del Ray
Another cute downtown area close by to the Eckel house. Lots of fun restaurants and our favorite Saturday morning farmer's market.
George Washington's Mount Vernon
