We met in Wyoming at the WCC Summer program when Joe was sixteen and Lizzy was fifteen. We hit it off sitting at the Fourth of July rodeo together and left as friends. We didn't cross paths again until the next Summer at the Thomas Aquinas College summer program. We reconnected there but didn't keep in touch about where we were going to college. We were both deciding between TAC and WCC but we ended up at WCC together with no planning! Joe was excited about seeing Lizzy again but she wasn't so sure, especially when he sent her an impromptu letter in the middle of their three week freshman backpacking trip. They continued to hang out through freshman year with Joe driving Lizzy around in his truck and Lizzy organizing Joe's schedule. Joe was hoping for their friendship to develop into something more, but Lizzy kept him firmly in the friend zone for a while. However, in March of their second semester freshman year, Lizzy invited Joe to come with her and her friends to a John Mayer concert in Salt Lake City, and it was there that Joe and Lizzy realized they were more than friends. When they got back to Lander, Joe asked Lizzy out to dinner, and they began officially dating on March 31, 2022. They've been dating for the past 3 years now, with many visits to each others homes, and many adventures in the beautiful mountains of Wyoming. This past August, after Lizzy's summer abroad in Europe and Joe's summer of working in Salt Lake City, Joe traveled to Lizzy's house in Alexandria, and he proposed during a sunset bike ride along the Potomac on August 16, 2024. They roadtripped back across the country for their senior year, stopping at many of Joe's relatives houses along the way to share the good news! We can't wait to celebrate with you all in July! We are so grateful to our families and friends for supporting us over the years and helping us get to the big day!
