Lavender Oaks Farm
The site of our ceremony & reception! Located in Chapel Hill, NC, Lavender Oaks Farm is a working lavender farm featuring 4,000 lavender plants in 9 varieties, elegantly restored century old timber frame barns, and 60 private acres surrounded by a majestic forest.
North Carolina Botanical Gardens
The North Carolina Botanical Garden is a botanical garden operated by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The primary goal of the Garden is to research, catalog, and promote the native plant species of North Carolina.
Morehead Planetarium and Science Center
Morehead Planetarium and Science Center is located on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. First opened in 1949, the planetarium was used to train Gemini and Apollo program astronauts in celestial navigation. Until the late 1990s, it contained one of the largest working Copernican orreries in the world.
Cat’s Cradle
Located less than a mile from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill campus in downtown Carrboro, the Cat’s Cradle has been the Triangle’s premier live music venue for over 50 years. Having hosted bands as diverse as Nirvana, Public Enemy, John Mayer, Joan Baez, and Iggy Pop, the Cat’s Cradle has become a must-stop venue for premier music acts over the past several decades. With a capacity of 750 people, the Cat’s Cradle allows concert-goers a chance to see established and up-and-coming bands alike in an intimate setting.
Duke Lemur Center
Founded in 1966, the Duke Lemur Center is an 85-acre sanctuary for rare and endangered strepsirrhine primates, and is a world leader in the study, care, and protection of lemurs. With more than 200 animals across 14 species, the DLC houses the world’s largest and most diverse population of lemurs outside their native Madagascar. The center is open to the public through tours, for which visitors must make an appointment.
Sarah P. Duke Gardens
Nestled in the heart of Durham lies a 55-acre botanical wonderland where the hum of cars and traffic disappear, birds serenade visitors from treetops, and rivers flow alongside pathways connecting people to more than 2,500 colorful plant species.

Durham Performing Arts Center
Since its opening in 2008, DPAC (Durham Performing Arts Center) has become the center for live entertainment in North Carolina. Recognized for its contemporary design, DPAC features 2,700 seats, intimate sightlines, and state-of-the-art sound and video. Ranked annually among the top-five theaters in America by three leading national magazines that cover live entertainment events and venues, in 2020 DPAC was among ten U.S. venues nominated for Theatre of the Decade by Pollstar Magazine.
William B. Umstead State Park
Located in Wake County 10 miles northwest of downtown Raleigh, William B. Umstead State Park is a cherished retreat from bustling urban life. The park features an extensive network of hiking and multiuse trails, as well as three manmade lakes and their tributaries that are perfect for fishing. Both park entrances offer picnic shelters, and Crabtree Creek offers camping areas.

North Carolina Museum of Art
The NC Museum of Art encompasses a collection that spans more than 5,000 years of artistic work from antiquity to the present, an amphitheater for outdoor performances, and a variety of celebrated exhibitions and public programs. The Museum features over 40 galleries as well as more than a dozen major works of art in the nation's largest museum park with 164-acres!
North Carolina State Fair
The North Carolina State Fair will be running from Thursday Oct. 12 to Sunday Oct. 22 this year! It consists of carnival rides, agricultural exhibitions and competitions, food, music, demonstrations, and garden and craft displays, and is something that Dylan and I try to go to every year! The NC State Fair is one of the largest and oldest state fairs in the United States, running since 1853.
North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences
The state’s museum devoted to science and nature, the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in central Raleigh is the largest institution of its kind in the Southeastern United States. The museum includes four floors of exhibits in its Nature Exploration Center and Nature Research Center—some including live animals.
