Not at all! Our Rabbi will provide context and the "why" behind each step in the ceremony as we move through it all. And if you're still a little unsure, don't worry! We're grateful that you will be there to celebrate with us, and we know that Jewish tradition is not common knowledge to most people.
As with most things, the answer is "yes, and"! We will provide kippot (plural of kippah) for those who wish to wear one and do not bring their own, and while we ask that Jewish men in attendance do wear them, we invite non-Jews to do so (or not) at your discretion. The Hora is a traditional cultural, but not religious, Jewish dance, thus we encourage all to join in celebration! Those who will lift our chairs will know ahead of time, but we always welcome additional hands to stabilize us. If that is not you, just follow others' lead; the Hora is known to be chaotic and energetic, so you will quickly find that the way in is to simply insert yourself anywhere into the circle.
