Attire: Picnic Fabulous
We simply could not welcome you to the Bay Area without sharing a little bit of our home here in Oakland. Roberts Regional Park is part of a string of beautiful parks occupying the ridge line that divides Alameda and Contra Costa Counties here in the East Bay. If you have time before the picnic, we highly encourage a bike ride or hike; adjacent Redwood Regional and Joaquin Miller Parks both have lovely trails. For those interested in a less athletic daytime activity, nearby Chabot Space & Science Center is terrific, and has great views of the Bay. Parking at Roberts Regional is $5/vehicle (cash or credit card). You can also take Lyft/Uber, or the 339 bus from Fruitvale BART station, which drops you off right outside the park. While we fully expect a warm and sunny California day, we recommend comfortable shoes, and an extra layer in case the fog rolls in. Everyone is welcome to join us for this open-house style event! A brief program will begin at 5:15pm.
Sat, Sep 1, 2018, 6:30 pm - Sun, Sep 2, 2018, 12:00 am
Attire: Cocktail (Tie Very Optional)
Our ceremony will be outdoors, adjacent to the reception venue. Please arrive by 6:15 pm to find your seat. During the ceremony, we expect it to be not too hot, not too cold. All you (might) need is a light jacket. The Mill Valley Community Center is easily reached by driving, Lyft, or Uber, and not easily reached by Marin Transit bus. Parking is ample at the Community Center. Note that if you arrive early to the ceremony, you might encounter young children finishing a day of soccer games. Do not be alarmed; they are widely considered to be harmless, even charming. A cocktail hour will immediately follow our ceremony, with dinner and lots of dancing after that.
11:30 am - 3:30 pm
Attire: Beach Fabulous / Casual
Join us on (late) Sunday morning for a brunch picnic in the sand at the Pacific Ocean. It can get windy here, so we recommend you bring a hat and a warm layer(s). For those who wish to join us, we will depart for a hike from the picnic area at approximately 1:30 pm. We expect to return to the Muir Beach parking lot by 3:30 pm. Muir Beach can be reached by an easy and scenic drive through the Marin Headlands, or by a strenuous and rewarding bike ride. There is no transit service to Muir Beach. Parking is very limited and we strongly encourage you to carpool. If the parking lot is full, you can legally park in the shoulder on the south side of Frank Valley Road, approx. 10 mins walk from the Muir Beach parking lot. Everyone is welcome to join us at any point for this open-house style event!
