Maid of Honor
Savannah and Ali have been best friends since day one in 6th grade. Actually, if you ask Savannah, she'll tell you that Ali was not fond of Savannah when they first met. Ali does not remember this. Anyway, needless to say, Savannah has been preparing for this role for many years. They have talked pretty much every day for the past 20 years (except for that one period of time in middle school when Ali was mad at Savannah). Even though they are both health care professionals with busy schedules, they still try to make some time for video games every now and then despite the time zone difference. Savannah will have many embarrassing stories to share about their adventures over the years so if you hear her telling one please distract her by walking her over to the bar for another drink or getting her another plate of hors d'oeuvres.
Bridesmaid
Mary Jeanne has known Ali since she was very young, as she is Savannah's sister. You can say Mary Jeanne was forced to know Ali and now Ali forces Mary Jeanne to spend every Sunday morning hiking Tumamoc. They use these hikes to not only get a workout in, but also as a time to catch up and enjoy the early morning sunrise. Ali and Mary Jeanne have bonded over their knee surgeries and fitness journeys and, as a result, push each other to be better. A lot of people call Mary Jeanne "MJ" but Ali likes using her full name not only because that's what she grew up calling her, but she also feels like saying Mary Jeanne adds emphasis like when a kid is in trouble and you call them by their first and middle name. Fun fact: Ali's middle name is also Jean (spelled differently) and they both got their middle names from their grandmother's first names.
Bridesmaid
Tracy and Ali worked together in Green Valley when Ali was a little baby pharmacy intern and then again when Ali graduated and returned as a pharmacist. Tracy and Ali love playing mind games with each other and sharing trivia. They have bonded over being sooper dooper s-m-r-t and love quizzing each other during the busiest pharmacy hours to break up the monotonous workflow. Tracy is an incredibly giving person and has showered Ali with gifts over the years, holiday or not. One random weekday Tracy brought Ali these cute little sushi erasers, just because Tracy thought of her when she saw them. Ali loves baking for Tracy and her family and makes sure to bake Tracy's birthday treats far enough in advance so she can enjoy them before Lent begins. One year Ali gave Tracy her birthday treat too late, but Tracy put them in the freezer and ate them when Lent was over. You can tell Ali and Tracy were meant to be in each other's lives because Tracy's daughter Elena looks just like Ali did when she was younger.
Bridesmaid
Kiki was Doug's pharmacy resident, but Ali and Kiki bonded over being super goofy. Kiki brings out Ali's goofy side very easily, which is true talent for how short they have known each other. When Kiki is around, you can guarantee everyone will be laughing because she always has a joke to share or a funny comment to add. Both Kiki and Ali love napping - Ali needs her high, soft bed and Kiki prefers basically the hard ground (she's very particular about her mattresses). Ali and Kiki love sharing kawaii memes and cute animated animal gifs with jiggly butt cheeks. If you are unsure what that last sentence means, just ask Kiki to show you an example. You won't be disappointed.
Bridesman
Hoang and Ali met in undergrad at the U of A in the Blue Chip leadership program. They bonded over K-Pop, the fact that they were both going to pharmacy school, and all things art. They were inseparable for many years in college, but then sadly lost contact after graduation due to being in different states and trying to start their pharmacist careers. One day a few years later, Ali decided to text Hoang to see how he was doing, and she's so glad she did. Their friendship has grown stronger and it's almost as if they never lost those years after school. Nowadays they love catching up with a long phone call at least once weekly amidst almost daily texts about pharmacy life. Since they don't live in the same state, they love having FaceTime art sessions - or "FART time!" You can usually find Hoang either quilling or baking vegan and celiac-friendly desserts.
Best Man
Tristan and Doug met through working many fun and challenging cases in the emergency room. They randomly decided to meet up one day at a bouldering gym and their bromance blossomed from there. He is the man behind many of Doug’s life-changing outlooks on life- through the teachings of cold plunging, suffering to build strength, and many more things- ask him about it! He is passionate about achieving the front lever and a handstand despite physics and math working against him due to his height (he’s really really really tall). We spend many nights debating who the GOAT of climbing is (go team Janja), doing all things bro, and making fun of their friend Matt for his love for Gamestop, application of math/physics, camping trips, and injuries.
Groomsman
Doug and Matt also met through working many fun and challenging cases in the emergency room. Commonly known as the “Haitian Sensation,” his enthusiastic and fun personality made it easy for Doug to connect to him through Korean bbq, being alumni of CDO, and bro-ing out with bench pressing/running. From there, their friendship now consists of Matt nerding out on astronomy to Doug with his huge telescope, explaining economics, and making fun of their friend Tristan about his connection to warlocks/witches, his inability to use chopsticks, his insanely jacked dad, and his height being the only reason as to why he climbs so well (he’s also really really really tall).
Groomsman
Deo and Doug met through pharmacy school and survived residency together. They share a love for food, cute animals, general fitness, and doing deep dives into products that could improve their lives. He is a music aficionado, being able to play the bass, guitar, drums, a little piano, and has a buttery voice that could make any kitten purr. He is also a great break dancer and certified StrongFirst-certified instructor! His love of fitness spills over into his friends’ lives and inspires Doug to do obstacle course races and the Murph together annually as a fun tradition. He is also an avid lover of coffee and whiskey and takes it to a whole ‘nutha level of having meticulous notes regarding different bean grinding times, coffee bean selections, water temperature control, and well, he could tell you much much more.
Groomsman
Andrew and Doug met when they were 6 years old, in first grade and he is Doug’s longest friendship. They bonded over many things over their lives together from Pokemon cards, playing Monkey Island, reading Calvin & Hobbes, working out, coming up with new recipe ideas, board games, and many many more things. Andrew is a wonderful pianist, dedicated father, and is the CEO of his very own 3D printing company! He is also a master of puns…if you’re talking to him and he cracks one, be sure to make him do 20 pushups as a PUNishment.
Groomswoman
Jenn and Doug met through the emergency room too! (See a trend of Doug’s friends?) Jenn and Doug began their friendship when Doug lost his old hairdresser when they moved away. Somehow Doug discovered that Jenn cuts hair and he took a leap of faith in asking if she could do his hair now instead. The rest is history and she keeps Doug looking fresh and clean. Together whether outside of or inside work, they are the dream team! Inside work, Jenn saves Doug from doing medication histories while also supplying the ER with the best chest compressions in the department. Outside work, Jenn tolerates Doug’s chronic tardiness to various activities, boulders together, and tries new adventures. No one could ask for a more reliable friend or a better role model to look up to.
Officiant
Eric went to pharmacy school with Doug and Ali. He works with Ali (and actually got her the job!) and works out with Doug a few times a week. They love having dinner and board game nights with each other while the kids are sleeping. He's a great friend to Doug and Ali and just an all around good guy. They couldn't think of anyone else they would want to be their officiant. He's also a great cook so if you need a recipe or tips, he's your guy!
Ring Bearer
Landon and Logan are the sons of Eric and Donella Ly. Landon, being older, is a little more outgoing while Logan is a little quieter. Doug and Ali remember when Landon was younger, though - he was very quiet and it took him years to talk to them. Now he loves calling Doug "Uncle Doug" and making him play pony whenever they go over. Landon and Logan love sweet treats (their mom is a wonderful baker) so if you see them wandering around, kindly direct them to the dessert table. Their dad is also an amazing cook so they have developed quite the palette. Doug and Ali anticipate their critique of the wedding dinner.
Flower Girl
Elena is Tracy's youngest daughter; however, she looks more like she could be Ali's daughter so it's been a long-standing joke that she actually IS Ali's daughter. Ali can show you her baby pictures to prove it. Elena is charismatic and wise beyond her years. If you see her at the wedding, ask her what her favorite dinosaur is. She'll be shy at first, but be persistent. Talking about dinosaurs is one of her favorite things. Playing doctor is a close second.
