The ceremony will be outside on the Tash Lawn so please wear your sunscreen! The weather in March in Tucson is around 80 degrees and should be pretty dry and sunny up until the sun sets.
If you are driving to the wedding, we recommended getting to the resort at about 4:30 pm so you have time to park. The resort has self and valet parking that will be discounted for the wedding and there is also free parking along Starr Pass Blvd. The free parking along Starr Pass Blvd usually fills up pretty quick so be sure to bring some cash for parking on site just in case. We recommend making your way to the Tash Lawn no later than 20 minutes before the ceremony begins (4:40 pm) so you can mingle a little, find a seat, and get comfortable.
Doug and Ali have all the material items they can handle at this time; however, if you have a personal gift for the couple then they will gladly accept. We will also have a card box if you wish to bring a card. Ultimately, we would love if you visited our registry page to contribute to our honeymoon fund.
No need! There will be plenty of alcohol available at the open bar. Please drink it all, we bought it just for you. There will also be plenty of non-alcoholic options (including the groom's mocktail!).
Unless your little one's name was specifically listed on your invite, we do ask that they spend the night with a babysitter or another family member. Although we do wish we could have everyone present at the wedding, this is an adult event. We do have a few children that are playing pivotal roles in the wedding and a few children who have been in the bride's life since they were born so please make them feel welcome if you see them. We hope you enjoy this as a fun mommy / daddy night out!
The RSVP is built in to this very website so please visit the top of the page, click "RSVP" and let us know if you can make it or not! There will not be an option to RSVP via mail.
The bride has always had a pet peeve of people wearing white or black dresses to a wedding. Please let the bride wear the white, and don't dress like you're going to a funeral. We ask that you dress colorfully! The theme is "Arizona sunset".
Doug and Ali are aware of some of the allergies among the invite list, but there will also be a comment section available to you in the RSVP. We know that there are nut allergies, seafood allergies, and gluten allergies. Since Doug and Ali love seafood, there will be some seafood served at cocktail hour. We do ask that you decline these hor d'ourves. Please notify us if there are other allergies we need to know about.
We have a strict guest list to help us stay on budget. If you have an option to add a guest name when you are RSVPing, please bring a guest! If not, we can't wait to see you and will make sure you are seated with the coolest crowd.
Yes! Please take the flowers! Ali actually loves doing this at weddings she attends and this will also help make sure the flowers don't just get thrown away. The only caveat is please do not take any glassware or vases as they do belong to the venue.
We do ask that the ceremony is unplugged. There will be signs reminding you to place your phone on silent and make sure it is put away. We have the wonderful Tara Lienen taking our photos and we will be sharing them with everyone when they are ready. Photos are welcome during the reception and we do recommend using our instagram hashtag (to be determined) so they can be shared with the couple. If you want to share the photos another way, please email them to Ali at ajflath@gmail.com or Doug at dleechan@email.arizona.edu.

As some of you may know, Doug proposed to Ali at Round1. He worked with the employees to put the ring box in one of the claw machines and the goal was to get Ali to win the ring box. The ring box was hidden inside another box with the goal of the claw machine being to hook a ring on top of the bigger box, lifting up the lid and revealing the ring box. Doug did not realize that Ali was terrible at this claw machine. She didn't even want to play. Everyone was trying to get Ali to play this specific machine but she did not want to, because she was terrible at it. Finally Doug ended up winning the game and everyone rushed Ali over to the machine where she was given the ring box and the actual prize from the game - the yellow plushie.
Yes, bring some cash if you can! We will be having some activities that require cash, but this is not mandatory of course.
