One of our favorite date spots in St. Louis! The Botanical Garden covers nearly 80 acres and features a variety of beautiful plants. Hanna loves visiting the indoor Climatron for a little slice of home with all of the tropical plants, while Conner particularly loves walking around the Japanese Garden. There are different festivals throughout the year so be sure to check out their websites for the most up to date offerings and park hours.
The reason St. Louis is on the map of places to visit, The St. Louis Arch is a spectacle! Fun fact: you can take a tram all the way to the top for incredible views of the city. Standing directly under the Arch is a view unlike any other to really appreciate this great piece of architecture.
If you're coming to St. Louis for the first time and are a beer fan, this is a must! With daily tours at different price points, there is something for everyone. We opt for the Beer Master tour which includes souvenirs and the opportunity to drink the brew of the day straight from the vat it is brewed in (if you're like Conner, you will drink 2 or 3 of these before the end of the tour)! Don't forget to try Bud Select, an Anheuser-Busch product you can only find here in St. Louis as it's "Brewed for the Lou".
Steps from our hotel block at The Chase Park Plaza - Forest Park is home to many fun stops including: Forest Park Golf Course, St. Louis Zoo, St. Louis Art Museum, The Boathouse, Missouri History Museum, and more! Many of these activities and places to see are free as well.
St. Louis' version of Little Italy! Stop by The Hill for great Italian food, some of our favorite spots include: Adrianna's - great soups and sandwiches, check out their Facebook page for daily specials Gioia's - the James Beard nominated Hot Salami sandwich (on garlic cheese bread, of course) is a must try Anthonino's - great Greek/Italian fusion, best Chicken Parm on the Hill! Guido's - a blend of Spanish tapas and Italian staples Rigazzi's - a more casual spot where you can get a fish bowl of beer (Conner's favorite) and their toasted ravioli, some of the best in St. Louis! Milo's - if you are looking for a fun bar atmosphere, Milo's is the spot! Complete with Bocce Ball courts and cheap drinks Favazza's - this one holds a special place in our hearts, Conner took Hanna on their first date here and return every year on their anniversary!
Soulard is St. Louis' historic French district, home of the second largest Mardi Gras festival in the country! Soulard is packed full of lively bars and restaurants some of our favorites include: 1860's - home of the best chicken tenders you will ever have and live music 7 nights a week John D. McGurks - come for the patio, stay for the Irish Car Bombs and Irish Pub fare
Within walking distance for our hotel block, there are lots of great foodie spots! The Chase Club (hotel lobby bar, where we have a feeling we will be hanging out quite a bit wedding weekend!) Clementine's Naughty & Nice Ice Cream El Burro Loco Twisted Ranch - over 30 different flavors of ranch!
