Quick essentials nearby:

24/7 Deli next to Hampton Inn ("Gold Street Market"): 257 Gold St 24/7 Deli next to Sheraton ("Brooklyn Deli"): 115 Willoughby St Target (City Point mall): 445 Albee Square West Trader Joe’s (City Point mall) for groceries: 445 Gold St DeKalb Market Hall (City Point) for a huge variety of easy meals (great for groups): 445 Albee Square West

Must Do Brooklyn Heights Activities!

You're in Brooklyn Heights / DUMBO - walk around to check out the neighborhood! Start at the corner of Henry and Pineapple Street. You can either walk West down Pineapple direct to the Brooklyn Heights Promenade for a view of Manhattan or South down Henry Street to Montague, where you have over a dozen of the neighborhoods best restaurants to stop in. (West down Montague Street will also take you to the Promenade!) The "must do": 1) Brooklyn Heights Promenade: iconic skyline + bridge views. 2) Brooklyn Bridge Park: stroll the piers, sit by the water, people-watch. If you want an easy landmark address for the Northern tip, "Pier 1 Entryway." For the Southern end, type in "Pier 6 / 360 Furman St" or "Fornino" (which is Don's favorite outdoor rooftop pizza spot in the park!) 3) Jane’s Carousel (DUMBO): quick, charming, great photos between the bridges. 4) Walk the Brooklyn Bridge: head to 55 Tillary St to start the walk! reserve 1-2 hours as it's a long one and could be crowded.

Closest Coffee/Breakfast (for when the 24/7 Deli won't cut it):

Next to Hampton Inn (5 min walk): Compilation Coffee @ 343 Gold Street Next to Sheraton (1 min walk): AvaBrew by Oren's @ 100 Willoughby Street Brooklyn Heights (15 mins walk): 1. Joe Coffee @ 102 Hicks Street 2. Montague Diner (classic NYC diner) @ 148 Montague Street 3. Montague Street Bagels (classic NYC bagels) @ 108 Montague Street 4. Vineapple (hip breakfast/lunch spot) @ 71 Pineapple Street PRO TIP: Grab breakfast or a coffee at one of the above in Brooklyn Heights and walk just two blocks West to enjoy the Brooklyn Heights Promenade view of Manhattan!

Our Favorite Restaurants

Breakfast: Henry or Hicks Streets (sit down: Vineapple or Clarks @ 80 Clark St; quick: Plymouth Cafe) OR Montague Street (sit down: Montague Diner; quick: Montague Bagels). These areas are well worth the 15 min walk! Unfortunately, most of the options around both hotels lean tourist/fast food. If you need something quick/close, we'd recommend the Delis listed at the top of this page. Quick sandwich: the 24/7 Deli options listed at the top of this page have food options and are a New Yorker's first and cheapest option for a quick sandwich or snack on the go. Quick slice: Norm's @ 345 Adams Street is Don's old law school slice shop, but there are other options on Henry Street and in Dekalb Market. Lunch/Dinner: Our favorites in the neighborhood are Dellarocco's Pizza @ 214 Hicks Street and River Deli @ 32 Joralemon Street (this one is a little farther of a walk). You can't go wrong with anything on Henry Street or Montague!

More Brooklyn Activities

Ferry ideas (Don’s favorite): There’s a great NYC Ferry route stop across from River Cafe, and it runs north up the East River. Incredible sightseeing and an on-board bar. Download the NYC Ferry app and plan your ride up to 34th Street (the United Nations) or all the way to 90th Street stop (Don and Amanda's stop in Upper East Side). A museum that’s genuinely fun (and close): New York Transit Museum is in a decommissioned subway station at 99 Schermerhorn St - perfect for a rainy day or train nerds Walk down Court Street or Atlantic Avenue (Boerum Hill/Cobble Hill area) for the best “wander and pop into boutiques” streets in the area Run Brooklyn Bridge Park: 2 miles from the Brooklyn Bridge to Pier 6 and back or ~5 miles if you run every pier. Don used to run the full loop every week in law school!
