Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Claire Aither and Skyler Donachie
We know most of you are traveling in from far and wide, so we hope you can make the holiday weekend worth your while. We've put together a few activities that we love to do so you can fill up the days around the big day with fun.
Lunch at Horseradish Kitchen + Market

Lunch at Horseradish Kitchen + Market

505 West Water Street, Princeton, WI 54968

You could stick this place in the middle of Manhattan or Miami and it would thrive. Open for late breakfast and lunch only, Horseradish serves the best sandwiches you've had in a long while.

Golf at Tuscumbia & Lawsonia

Golf at Tuscumbia & Lawsonia

680 Illinois Avenue, Green Lake, WI 54941

Some of the best golf in Wisconsin is within a couple miles of the lake. Tuscumbia is an approachable course for all levels of golfers. If golf is really your thing, Lawsonia has been consistently rated a top 5 golf course in Wisconsin for decades. Because it's Labor Day Weekend, we recommend reserving a tee time far in advance to guarantee a spot.

Tiki Bar at Norton's

Tiki Bar at Norton's

380 South Lawson Drive, Green Lake, WI 54941

Norton's has been a staple on Green Lake for more than 75 years. And on Labor Day Weekend, their tiki bar on the lakefront is the place to be. Pull up a stool or chill out relaxing all cool with a drink in your hand.

Maker's Market

Maker's Market

492 Hill Street, Green Lake, WI 54941

The Market at Town Square in downtown Green Lake on Labor Day Weekend is one of the gems of the summer. If you like browsing for anything from art finds to local honey, spend some time perusing the booths and tents on Saturday morning.

Hiking Devil’s Lake State Park

Hiking Devil’s Lake State Park

S5975 Park Road, Baraboo, WI 53913

Widely regarded as the prettiest hike in Wisconsin, Devil's Lake State Park is about an 80 minute drive, but if you're driving in or flying out of Madison and want to get a hike in, this is one of the best in the Midwest. We recommend taking the Ice Age Trail. The total distance around the lake is about 5 miles.

Princeton Flea Market

Princeton Flea Market

Town Hall Road, WI

The largest flea market in Wisconsin can be found in downtown Princeton every Saturday during the summer. Everything from antiques to bouquets line the street among the historic downtown. You may not need anything but you're sure to find something!

Zobel Park Disc Golf

Zobel Park Disc Golf

WI-49 N, Green Lake, WI 54941

If you like disc golf–or have never given it a try–Zobel Park is one of the best courses in the state. Only a 10 minute drive from Ripon or Green Lake, it's worth it just for a walk in the woods. Ask Skyler to borrow a disc or two if you'd like to try!

Rent a Kayak

Rent a Kayak

463 Lake Street, Green Lake, WI 54941

Getting out on the water is a must if you can. Lake Street Marina has rentals for kayaks, SUPs and even pontoons to make it a party. We recommend booking in advance due to the high volume expected for the holiday weekend.

Swim at Hattie Sherwood Beach

Swim at Hattie Sherwood Beach

450 South Lawson Drive, Green Lake, WI 54941

The star of the show–besides Claire, of course–is the lake. Hattie Sherwood is a public beach for swimming or sunbathing lakeside. There are not many better ways to close out the summer than that.
