It's basically in the middle of the state. It's 40 minutes west of Fond du Lac, an hour north of Madison, an hour and half northwest of Milwaukee, and farther away from Canada than you New Yorkahs think.
Both the ceremony and reception will take place at the Aithers' house (Claire's parents). Barring bad weather, it will take place outside on the lawn around the house. We want this to be a comfortable party with all our favorite people, so come loose and ready to have fun.
Boho chic Midwest lake yacht club casual. No no, just kidding. Wear your favorite summer cocktail dress or button down with boat shoes. We'll be partying outside on a lawn, so wear comfy shoes for grass and maybe bring a light layer in case it gets a bit chilly lakeside after the sun goes down.
Stay as long as you'd like! You planes, trains and automobiles'd it out here, so make it worth your while. We've reserved a couple room blocks for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights anticipating a long weekend. We'll be enjoying ourselves for even longer than that, so make yourself comfortable in our hometown.
If you're flying in to one of the three airports, we recommend renting a car for the weekend. Ubers and Lyfts are not very common around here, unfortunately. We will be providing a shuttle on Saturday during the wedding that will pick up and drop off at any of the hotel/rental houses you guys will be staying in. But for the rest of the days surrounding Saturday, having a car accessible is the best way to do it.
If you're in Green Lake, Norton's or Heidel House each have terrific cocktail bars. For a more casual setting in Green Lake, Goose Blind and Adam's Rib are tons of fun. If you're in Ripon, Knuth Brewing Company has some of the best beer in Wisconsin–and that's saying something. Also, Public House is an Irish Pub with great food, better bartenders and the owner is a Long Island guy. If you're in Princeton, the Buckhorn is a classic Wisconsin bar with terrific cheese curds and a back patio overlooking the Mecan River.
No. And now it's about to be Donachie, so you couldn't have been farther off.
