Killarney National Park Walking Tour

9:30 am

Make sure you’ve worn or packed some layers for the day. Please come nourished and ready for an all day adventure! Our walks will be broken up (about 4 total hours of walking on the high end) and mostly flat on designated trails, however when we get to Torc waterfall, the terrain can be rocky/muddy/slippery after an Irish rain, so please plan your footwear and gear accordingly.

9:30am: Meet in the Cahernane lobby. Luggage can be stored on site. 10:15am: ~45min walk to Muckross Abbey, one of Ireland’s most evocative monastic ruins. Legend says the friars planted the 600 year old yew tree when the abbey was founded, but there are some who believe it was already there, and the abbey was deliberately built around it, honoring the tree as a sacred symbol of eternal life. Beware: local lore says that touching it will bring misfortune. 12pm: ~30min walk to lunch at Muckross Garden Restaurant offering cafeteria style service with hot buffet options, sandwiches and more from €10-€20/~$11-$24. Cards/cash accepted. 1pm: Torc Waterfall trailhead is ~30min walk from the restaurant. Two options here—the quick walk, about 5 minutes straight to the base of the 20-meter waterfall OR—the short trail, which is a moderate loop that takes about 1-1.5 hours. ~3:30/45pm: We will head back to the car park to get into pre-booked cabs and head back to Cahernane in time for check-in.

O’Reilly Small Wedding

Cocktail Attire: Florals, autumnal hues, moody vibes, blazers and bow ties are encouraged. Please avoid wearing green velvet or white/ivory.

The ceremony will take place in the Atrium and last about 30 minutes. Canapés & champagne reception will follow and last about an hour and a half. Our formal dinner will take place in Herbert's Restaurant where you will choose from a four-course set menu, any dietary needs will be catered for. Wedding receptions in Ireland tend to linger 4-5 hours. After dinner, we will have time to change and layer up for a ~20 minute walk into town (those who prefer, can coordinate cabs with the concierge) to continue the celebration with live music and Irish pub vibes. The Cellar Bar at Cahernane House will remain open for us when we return from town to keep the party going into the wee hours!

If you're staying at Cahernane we hope to catch you in Herbert's Restaurant during breakfast service between 8am – 10:30am before we all depart for other adventures!
