The Wedding Website of Ashton Hartman and Doyle Jackson
The mountains are calling, and we must go! We hope you can make it to the wedding, but also use this time as an opportunity to enjoy the mountains. WEATHER The average fall temperature in Estes Park can range from 58 degrees to 31 degrees. We suggest you pack layers. Keep in mind the weather does not feel as hot or cold as some might be used to because it is dry here. Additionally, the Aspen leaves will be turning their famous bright reds, yellows, and oranges. The elk will be in rut too. LODGING We do not have any hotel rooms blocked. Estes Park has a wide variety of lodging available and we did not want you to feel limited in how you could enjoy your time here. Lodging here ranges from: Airbnb/VBO homes, condos, hotel rooms, motels, cabins, suites, camping, and RVing. Some properties are designed as a romantic getaway for adults, while others are designed for families with young kids. Here are some places we would recommend from visiting while in town.

Flight

Denver International Airport (DEN)

Located on the north east side of Denver, DEN is the best airport to fly into. Be sure to check out the 'Blue Mustang' on your way to or from the airport. At night its eyes are red!

Travel Note

Altitude Sickness and Sunburn

This is not a joke. We have had several people visit us in Colorado and experience some degree of altitude sickness. We suggest drinking a lot of water on your way here and taking it pretty easy the first day or two of your trip before diving into mountainous adventures. Bring lotion, sunscreen, and chap-stick. It is dry and sunny here. We know people who wear sunscreen as a daily routine.

Travel Note

Estes Park Transportation

Estes Park has limited transportation services, but luckily everything is pretty walk-able or some lodging has shuttle services. If not renting a car, we suggest thinking about the types of things you want to do and select lodging near those things, or look into lodging with shuttle service.

Travel Note

Rocky Mountain National Park

Rocky Mountain National Park can get pretty busy. We highly suggest car-pooling or using their free shuttle service. You do not have to be inside the boundaries of the national park to gain access to it, you can start at the visitor center. See their website for more detailed information.

This is where we are getting married. The owner also owns Estes Park Condos on Fall River. This property is more tucked aware. They have a lovely steakhouse, Twin Owls Steakhouse, on the property and a pool. The have condos available from 1-3 bedrooms. *Smoking is not allowed on the property at all. It will result in a large fine per occurrence. This includes if you are outside on the property.

Hotel

The Estes Park Resort

1700 Big Thompson Avenue
Estes Park, CO 80517

This resort is right across the way from the reception, enough so that you could walk there. Additionally, it is the only resort on Lake Estes and is off the beaten path from downtown. They have a restaurant with outdoor seating along the lake too.

Hotel

Silver Moon Inn

175 Spruce Drive
Estes Park, CO 80517
 (970) 586-6006

This hotel is reasonable and where we stayed the night the night we got engaged. The staff is really friendly and they have free firewood for the fireplaces. You can also roast s'mores in the fire pit. We were able to easily walk to downtown Estes Park.

Hotel

Estes Park Condos on Fall River

Estes Park, CO 80517

This property is really unique as some rooms are considered a spa special because there are jetted tubs for two in the bedrooms. We have spoke with some of the staff and they are really nice and the owners of the property own the neighboring properties too. They have an outdoor hot tub, are on the river, and every time we have gone by there are Elk on site. They also stock the river with trout and supply fishing poles if you so desire to fish.

Hotel

The Stanley Hotel

Estes Park, CO 80517

For those wanting a more luxurious stay, this is the place to be. There is a restaurant and bar onsite. However, beware as this is home to Stephen King's 'The Shining'. Both day and haunted night tours are available.

Hotel

The Ridgeline Hotel Estes Park
