Estes Park, CO

The Big Day

What to expect

Welcome to the Wild West! We will be getting married in Estes Park, Colorado. Estes Park is a small mountain town home to the East entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP). We chose to have our wedding in Estes Park because that is where we got engaged (check the story bellow), and for its diverse activities for those who have not been to Colorado. We hope to give you a fun and adventurous experience that is unique to Colorado at our wedding. We will be having our elegant yet simple mountain ceremony at Black Canyon Inn. Then we will get our party hats and dancing shoes on to let loose at Hermit Park Open Space's Group Pavilion for the reception. We hope you can make it!

Popping the Question

11/17/2018

For our three year anniversary, we decided to do an overnight trip in Estes Park, Colorado. We had been there several times before. However, we were not able to get out of the car and explore the area. We stayed at Silver Moon Inn fur-kid free. When we arrived, we walked downtown, carefully as it snowed the whole time and everything was icy, and looked at the little shops. When it got darker we went to a Christmas tree lighting ceremony and drank hot chocolate while listening to the town's children choir sing until the mayor flipped the switch to tree lights. After that, we went out to a nice dinner up the road. On the way back Doyle insisted we go back to the area to see what the trees are like without a lot of people. Wearing a dress, I insisted it be quick. When we walked up to the area a group of teenage boys were on their way out, leaving us as the only ones there. We got to the center of all the trees and as I was looking around with my back turned, Doyle said he had a question for me. I turned around and that is when he got on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course, I said yes!

A Southern Boy and Northern Girl Brought Together

11/17/2015

We met because life decided to pull each of us to Tucson, Arizona, from our home states in search of something more. Little did we know that this 'something more' would lead to so many experiences and memories together. Doyle was brought to Tucson through his assignment at Davis Monthan Air Force Base. I found my way to Sierra Vista, Arizona after graduating college to get to know more of my family. Our first date was at Tombstone, Arizona. We saw the gun show fight, but was more entertained by the crowd's reactions. After that, we walked around the little shops and completed the tour at The Bird-Cage before grabbing some lunch. Not wanting to leave yet, but slowly completed everything there was to really do in Tombstone, we decided to do one last tour at the Town-hall near where we parked. When paying for the tour, the cashier asked Doyle if I was his wife. We both blushed, as this was the first time we had ever met. Now here we are, three years later, and that woman's assumption is coming true!
