FAQs

The Wedding Website of Lauren Calmet and DJ Funkhouser
Question

Attire

Answer

Cocktail attire is appropriate for all wedding weekend festivities. Our wedding will have a fun, festive, disco-inspired atmosphere, so feel free to embrace bold colors, fun textures, statement pieces, and other creative fashion choices. We love personal style and encourage guests to have fun with their look. Evenings in Washington, DC can be cool, so a light jacket or wrap is recommended.

Question

Will we actually be sailing?

Answer

Yes. The ceremony and full reception, including cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing, will all take place aboard the National Elite as we cruise along the Potomac River in Washington, DC. Guests can expect approximately four hours aboard the yacht for the full celebration. The National Elite is a three-level yacht-style dining vessel featuring a fully enclosed climate-controlled dining deck and cocktail lounge, an open-air glass-enclosed aft deck off the cocktail lounge, and a third-level open-air sky deck. Guests will be able to enjoy both indoor and outdoor spaces throughout the evening, including views of the DC waterfront and monuments along the Potomac.

Question

Do people get seasick on the boat?

Answer

The ship does not create the same pitch as an open-ocean vessel. It is extremely rare that guests will get sick as we will be cruising in calm waters.

Question

What if I’m unable to travel or attend the wedding?

Answer

If you are unable to join us, please know we completely understand. We have loved ones we cherish dearly spread all across the country, and even in Peru, and we recognize that travel, scheduling, finances, and life transitions can make attending difficult. Of course we will be bummed to miss celebrating with you, but our feelings will not be hurt, and your ability to attend will never impact the role you hold in our lives.
