How everyone meets these days...on Bumble! However, we had our first date years before we actually started dating. We met for sushi, but then I (Liz) promptly went on a dessert date after and Drew had another date the next day. Several years passed and then we matched again on Bumble. I played hard to get and made Drew use his 24-hour-extend option before I messaged him. Drew quipped that Dan had not grown back a leg in the past three years which made me laugh and agree to give him another shot. Our "second first date" started with drinks at The Canopy (where a fabulous older gentleman tried to get Drew to come back to his house for the evening) and a duck quesadilla at Red Mesa. The rest is history... or as The Killers say, "It started out with a kiss, how did it end up like this?"
Drew proposed during our Christmas vacation to Strasbourg, France, and the Swiss Alps. We spent several magical days in "The Capital of Christmas" and on our last evening in France, enjoyed a traditional Alsatian dinner together (edit for accuracy: I stuffed my face with several kinds of sausage and a pound of sauerkraut). Clearly full and in need of a walk, we decided to take one last stroll around Strasbourg as it was the final evening that the Christmas markets were open. Surrounded by thousands of lights, the city's largest Christmas tree within Place Kleber, and the smell of brewing vin chaud - Drew got down on one knee and I eagerly said "Oui!"
