Area Information

The area around Farmville is quite rural - GORGEOUS, but rural. The groom's family and a number of our friends live out this way, so they would be happy to help if you have any questions - just let the bride or groom know if you're having trouble finding accommodations or want to know the best way to come road-wise!

This hotel is in the heart of Farmville, not to far from our venue. We have a block of rooms reserved until May 9th; you can book online and type 'RDW' to get the group rate, or tell them you're with the Rumford Diaz wedding

Travel Note

Getting to the Venue

The venue can seem tricky to find. Google Maps should work just fine, we had no trouble. Just make sure you load it beforehand, because service may be sketchy. When you're on Cooks Rd and nearing the destination, be on the lookout for a side road with a wagon with the name Carolyn Baldwin Lake painted on the side. Turn down this road. This is the long entrance road to the venue. It is QUITE long. You may think you're lost. You're not. Keep going. Through the forest lol. There are lots of signs - follow them! Eventually you will come out of the woods and see a wedding sign with our name on it and plenty of parking. You will also see the lake & the pavilion. Hooray, you made it! Taken directly from their website, here are their directions: From Downtown Farmville: Head West on Main St. for approx. 5 miles. Turn right on rt. 638. Take first right onto rt. 653. Go approx. 1 mile. Driveway on the right (look for our sign).
