Travel & Lodging

The Wedding Website of Devon Hansen and James Garbier
We know this will be a destination wedding for many of our guests, and we want to make your trip as smooth and enjoyable as possible. We chose to get married in Seattle because it’s one of our favorite places in the world, and we’re so excited to share it with you. Below you’ll find our recommendations for getting here, getting around, and choosing a neighborhood to stay in for the weekend. If you have any questions along the way, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re happy to help.

Flight

Seattle–Tacoma International Airport (SEA)

For guests traveling from out of town, we recommend flying into Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). From SeaTac, you can take an Uber/Lyft or hop on the Link Light Rail to reach most neighborhoods in the city. Rental cars are also available at SeaTac if you plan to explore beyond the city during your stay.

Travel Note

Recommended Neighborhoods & Lodging

We don’t have a formal room block for the weekend, but Seattle has plenty of great places to stay. Rather than steering everyone to one hotel, we’re sharing a few neighborhoods we love—each with its own vibe and easy access to the wedding events. This way, you can pick the spot that best fits your travel style.

Travel Note

Where to Stay: South Lake Union

(Best for Hotels) If you prefer staying in a hotel, South Lake Union is your best bet. The area has plenty of modern hotels, great restaurants, and easy access to downtown, the waterfront, and public transit. It’s also just a short Uber/Lyft ride from our wedding venue, making it a very convenient home base. Recommended Hotels: Astra, CitizenM or the Courtyard by Marriott Seattle Downtown/Lake Union

Travel Note

Where to Stay: Queen Anne

Queen Anne offers a mix of quiet, residential streets and walkable pockets of boutiques, cafés (incredible pastries!), and the best views of Seattle. You’ll find smaller hotels and a good selection of Airbnbs. It’s close to the Space Needle, Seattle Center, and not far from the wedding venue.

Travel Note

Where to Stay: Fremont/Phinney Ridge/Wallingford

Fremont/Phinney Ridge/Wallingford has a fun, artsy personality with lots of local restaurants, breweries, and shops. Fremont is also James’s old neighborhood and is within walking distance of the wedding! Hotel options are limited, but there are plenty of Airbnbs and boutique stays. If you stay here, text James for his favorite bar and café recommendations!
