Key West averages a year-round temperature of 85 degrees. However, the summer months are quite humid. Both the ceremony and reception are outdoors, therefore, we ask that you dress and prepare accordingly. We would really like everyone to be comfortable so please wear something cool. The ceremony starts just prior to sunset, so we do anticipate it will cool down a bit. There is also an ocean breeze most nights and we will have fans at the reception. June is also the beginning of rainy season in Key West, however, the rain showers are generally fairly quick.
The dress code will be semi-casual/beach attire. Think nicer shorts, khakis, or linen pants for men with short-sleeve button downs or Hawaiian shirts. Please don't feel the need to wear a suit as we really want you to be comfortable! For ladies, sundresses or slacks with blouses would be recommended. Please NO jeans, tee shirts, cutoffs, etc. Please wear comfortable footwear such as sandals or boat shoes. We do NOT recommend heels as the footing in the fortress is very uneven and we do not want anyone to get hurt.
We love your children, we really do, but we would prefer to celebrate with just you! We also want those attending to use this opportunity to relax and enjoy a short vacation. Key West is NOT a child-friendly destination so we would encourage you to make this an adults only trip. However, we do understand that with this being a destination wedding, it may be difficult for some guests to secure childcare, therefore, we are understanding if you do need to bring your children with you.
Yes- transportation both to and from the wedding will be provided. Please see schedule/itinerary for more information. For those wishing to arrange their own transportation, feel free as well. Uber and taxis are readily available on the island. You may also drive your personal vehicle into the park, however, no overnight parking will be permitted.
For those wishing to join us on Saturday, we will be having a relaxing pool day (See schedule/itinerary tab). Otherwise, we encourage you to use the remainder of your time in Key West to explore and see everything the island has to offer! We are hoping to put together a list of popular attractions, restaurants, and other items of interest together for those who will be in attendance. Let us know if there is something in particular you would be interested in as we have been to the island several times and would love to assist!
We understand that in having a destination wedding, it may be difficult for many guests to attend. Not to mention, we are getting married in the midst of a global pandemic! Please know, we completely understand if you cannot attend and know you will still be thinking of us from afar! Although there will not be a formal event planned for after the wedding or when we return, we would love to spend time with those of you who could not make it at a later date!
