Train

Metro - TMB

The subway system in Barcelona. It is very well-connected, although sometimes you have to make convoluted transfers. There are also many buses which use the same tickets as the Metro. The Orange L9-S line stops at the airport and connects to transfer to other Metro lines.

Train

Renfe

Renfe is the train system in Spain. It is most useful for traveling to cities or towns outside of the Barcelona and is used by many commuters as well as tourists. Keep in mind that there are many stations in Barcelona, so make sure you are at the correct one. There are also high-speed trains, AVE, which can take you across the country. The N2 Nord train stops at the Airport. This website seems to be very tourist friendly: https://www.barcelona-tourist-guide.com/en/airport/transport/barcelona-airport-train.html

Rental Car

Not recommended

You can rent a car if you'd like, but I don't recommend it. The city is very well-connected with public transportation and taxis are easily available. It is definitely a walkable city, so bring comfortable shoes! If you choose to rent a car, keep in mind: If you want an automatic car specify it, most cars in Spain are standard/stick-shift. Be prepared to pay for parking because parking is never easy in Barcelona. Beware of motorists; many people ride motorcycles to mitigate the traffic and scant parking.

Rental Car

TaxiApps

Instead of Uber and Lift, Barcelona has MyTaxi and Cabify. Or hail down a cab, yellow and black, there are many everywhere. The green light on top means they're available; a number means it's full.
