COVID RESTRICTIONS
Covid PCRs and Rapid test are NO longer required to enter or exit both the US and DR, whether you are vaccinated or not. You are welcome to take a test if you choose to. You can also verify with your airline if they require anything further.
E-TICKET
In order to travel to and from the DR, you must fill out an e-ticket. This is a digital form of your travel health affidavit, customs declaration, and international embarkation/disembarkation forms. At least 72 hours before your flight please click on the link and fill out the form. One form is needed per family, just add how many people are covered on the form in the drop box. You will also have to fill this form out again when you depart from DR. Please Show the QR code to customs when asked. A quick side note: This form is also provided in paper form at the airport. But this is so much easier.
Excursion
Our post-wedding celebration is a Group Excursion, we have booked a 3-hour-long Catamaran excursion for Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022. The price is $53 a person and it includes snorkeling equipment, life jackets, food, and drinks. Our transportation bus will arrive at 11 AM to take us to the Catamaran. We should be back at the resort around 3:30/4. If you plan to join us we ask that you send your payment to us via Zelle or Venmo before we depart. This way we can give the travel service the exact head count. If you would like to pay in cash the day of please contact the bride or groom so they know to still include you.
Phone Service
Before arriving in the Dominican Republic please contact your phone service provider and add international calling/text/internet to your service. Provide them with the dates you will be out of the country. Please understand that roaming chargers are ridiculously high they could be anywhere from $.60-$1.00 a min or a text, which can break the bank after a few uses. We advise you to either make the call to add international calling or go unplugged, just don’t let the roaming charges hit you.
Transportation
The bride and groom highly recommend the Renny travel service for your airport transportation. For $25 a person you will be picked up from the airport as well as dropped back at the airport when you depart. This is a nonstop "Private Group" transportation. If you don't want to use Renny transportation you are welcome to utilize the airport cab service or Uber. It is a 30 min cab ride to and from the hotel and the airport. Just remember you are in a different country so language barriers may exist. SIDE NOTE: At the bottom of the Renny form, they ask if you want to book excursions. This is not the one we are doing as a group, this is for personalized excursions for you and your partner or family.
Debit/Credit Cards
If you plan to use a credit or debit card in the DR you need to contact your service provider before you enter DR and provide them with the dates you will be out of the country. So they don't shut off your service in an attempt to protect you from fraud. At the resort, all your food and drinks are covered under your booking. The only time you will need to use cash or credit is when booking an excursion, spa, or extra amenities like hair cuts and so on.
Cash
We recommend you bring cash with you on the trip. In case you want to give tips, book excursions, or leave the resort. Tipping in the DR usually gets you more personalized services and sometimes cheaper excursions. But remember it’s at your own discretion and not necessary. Also, the resort accepts American Cash so there is no need to change to Dominican dollars unless you are leaving Punta Cana Area. On a side note, anytime you travel internationally with money, you’re required to declare any cash over $10,000.
