This is A-ok! The bride and groom love you anyway and will keep you fully informed of any events they may have closer to home. As well, they will be hosting a live wedding ceremony for anyone that can't make it to Punta Cana, so no worries you will still be with them!
It is highly recommended that you stay with the bride and groom at Royalton Bavaro, but if you have other accommodations, that is fine as well. Just know this will affect your transportation to the wedding venue and any activities that will be held at the resort. Whatever you decide is A-ok just give the bride and groom a heads up on your decision. For those of you that are booking your room at the same resort, you can refer to the "Travel" tab above and click on the website provided under the hotel name. The bride and groom have reserved a block of rooms for you, at a discounted rate, which is super awesome!
Check-in at the Royalton Bavaro is at 3 pm-midnight, and check-out is at noon.
The hotel is a 30-minute drive from the airport (PUJ). Once you have booked your flights, book your transportation directly with Renny Travel. To do this you can refer to the "Travel" tab above and click on the website provided under the travel note. Roundtrip airport transportation to Royalton Bavaro is $25 per person and is a nonstop "Private Group" transportation. So renting a car isn't necessary or advisable (driving in the Dominican Republic is an extreme sport and not for everyone lol). Alternatively, taxis are available and cash-only. USD is accepted. Uber/Lyft is not prevalent.
Yes! Please refer to the "Itinerary" tab for more details.
The venue is about a 12-minute drive from the hotel. The bride and groom recommend you take the complimentary shuttle to and from the venue so that there is no confusion about where to go. But if you do choose to drive, there is parking on site.
Yes. There is a shuttle from Royalton Bavaro to Kukua Beach Club. Please arrive at the lobby by 4:15 pm! A shuttle will also take you back to the resort at the end of the night.
To allow all wedding guests, including parents, a night of relaxation and uninterrupted partying, we asked that children not attend the ceremony and reception, other than those that are named on the RSVP List. However, all other weekend events will be kid-friendly.
The bride and groom are only able to accommodate those listed on the RSVP list for the wedding. But feel free to tag people along to stay with you at the resort. It's your vacation too! If you are unsure who is invite with your invitation, please give the bride or groom a call.
The ceremony and the reception will be completely outdoors, and the dinner portion of the wedding will be held in an outdoor, covered setting.
Yes, you can wear heels! There will be a wooden walkway to the beach ceremony. But the seats are on the sand. Also, the cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing will be held on solid surfaces. The dress code is "Beach Semi-Formal." The bride and groom would like for their guests to be comfortable, especially in the Caribbean sun, so they suggest wearing lightweight clothing. For example: Men: lightweight, linen, dressy pants; button-down shirt; dress shoes or sandals. Women: short/long dress, rompers; lightweight dressy pants; any shoes that you'll be comfy in (heels, sandals, flats).
Please indicate your dietary restriction and allergies when you RSVP! It is very important for us to know so that Kukua can prepare your food accordingly. You shouldn't have any issues at the hotel as it has many meal options.
Besides consuming all the food and drinks at this All-Inclusive resort, you can take advantage of the bars, casino, special event entertainment, the teen/kids clubs, Bavaro beach, pools, spas, sport/recreational activities, some mini-golf, and the lazy river. Royalton Bavaro also has a ton of excursions to keep you busy. It's going to be a blast!
The water is filtered, so tap water, ice cubes, and produce are safe to consume at Kukua Restaurant and the Hotel restaurants (though maybe not the hotel rooms). Each room should have a fully stocked fridge ready for use.
The hotel is all-inclusive. Cash tipping is not mandatory, but it is very much appreciated. Tipping lets the hospitality staff know you appreciate the extra effort and encourages them to take your service to the next level. But always remember it is an optional gesture.
Effective June 12, 2022, the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will no longer require passengers traveling from a foreign country to the United States to show or present a negative COVID-19 viral test or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 before they board their flight. This also goes for the Dominican Republic. At this time there aren't any regulations stopping unvaccinated persons from entering or leaving the country including the US. The hotel does provide RT-PCR and viral antigen testing onsite for an additional cost if this is something you choose to do.
