We recommend staying overnight on the night before and the night of the wedding, but driving up the day of the wedding is possible. You should plan to arrive at the Ferry departure port at 12:10-12:15PMish to take the 12:30PM or 1PM ferry to the island (1PM at the very latest). The ferry will take around 20-30 minutes to arrive at the island. Then you will need to get to the resort where we will have our ceremony and reception. The resort is about a mile from where the ferry lets you off, so you can either take a taxi (pulled by horses) or you can walk to the resort. I am unsure if you can pay for the taxi with card, so I would bring cash if possible. For those in Ann Arbor, we recommend leaving around 7:30AM to make sure you're on the island at the resort by 1:30PM. For those in Adrian, we recommend leaving around 7:00AM to make sure you're on the island at the resort by 1:30PM. If you're planning to drive back home after the wedding that night, make sure to check the ferry schedule so you don't miss the last ferry! We will have the DJ announce reminders when it gets close. The reception ends at 10PM so the last ferry will leave before the wedding reception ends.
The couple and the bridal party will go off and take photos before the photoshoot of just the couple. Many guests will go explore the island during this time! If you are staying on the island, feel free to go back to your hotel room and rest up before the fun begins!
Neutrals, neutrals, neutrals! Please see the "Guest Attire" page for examples and color schemes :)
We appreciate anything you gift us - including just your presence! Our honeymoon will be a 6-day Carnival cruise from Miami, FL to the Caribbean and then a 5-day stay in Cancun, Mexico! The registry is full of gift ideas that we would love to have as newlyweds. Either way, we are so appreciative of anything and everything we receive.
