The city of Tucson sits in the middle of Saguaro National Park, so you can visit either Saguaro National Park East or Saguaro National Park West. Both parks offer lots of hiking, and a great opportunity to see the Saguaros and other desert wildlife.
Mt Lemmon rises nearly 7,000 feet from the city of Tucson. While the base of the mountain is in the Sonoran desert, the ecosystem at the top resembles the rockies, and on the drive up you experience everything in between. It's a scenic drive with lots of viewpoints, and it also offers hiking and some incredible downhill mountain biking.
Tucson Mountain Park has a network of trails that are great for mountain biking and hiking among the Saguaros.

A must for people traveling from Phoenix to Tucson. The Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch has a ton of activities for people young and old. The petting zoo is one of Deirdre's and Tyler's core memories with goofy goats that have there own penthouse to the terrifying ostriches and many more animals you can feed for $10. If you have the time take the opportunity to feed the critters or take a monster truck ride.
