Fingers crossed that you will get to experience this favorite Madison weekend activity that started in 1976. The market usually runs Saturday from 6:15am-1:45pm around the capital square (it's expected to start again June 19th!) and has a little bit of everything from across the state. Make sure to grab some cheese samples, a scone, or maybe the famous spicy cheese bread from Stella's (although Caitlin prefers their morning buns). You might even catch some of the Door County cherries that are only at the market for 2-3 weeks every year.
A gorgeous building that can be seen all around the city. Just walk on in to explore Wisconsin's history on your own. The Capital building's covid-19 restrictions are ever changing, so if you're wanting to see the building, check their website before visiting.
Just a block from the Capitol, the Monona Terrace has the best view of Madison's Lake Monona and the building itself was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. If you want to pretend like it's our original wedding date and plan, check out the rooftop and enjoy the view.
After you get back from the reception, definitely check out Ian's for a late night snack. The Mac n' Cheese pizza is a Madison favorite. Don't be surprised if there's a long line, the wait is worth it. They're open until 3:00 AM in case you stay out till bar close ;)
Nick and Caitlin's favorite bar in Madison. Cask has a great selection of whiskey (we're talking pages of the menu) and rotating taps, but they also have amazing cocktails if you're not a beer or whiskey person. Not sure what to get? Ask a bartender for a recommendation.
If you want classic Wisconsin, The Old Fashioned is the place. They have all Wisconsin beers on tap, and (obviously) make one of the best old fashioneds in town. Their food menu has beer and cheese soup, brats, burgers, and cheese curds too.
