Yes! We will be hosting our vow renewal and reception on Saturday July 24, 2021. We will also have a rehearsal dinner for all able to attend on Friday July 23.
The wedding weekend is still taking place in the Madison, WI area. We have a new venue called Harvest Moon Pond. It is a refurbished and updated barn and farm. The ceremony and cocktail hour will take place outside, weather permitting, before we move inside for dinner, dessert, and dancing (the barn is air conditioned). The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all take place here, no need for transport between these events.
Semi Formal (cocktail, tea, or floor length dress or dressy jumpsuit for ladies, and pants, shirt, and jacket with tie optional for gentlemen). The ceremony will likely be outside on grass, so please keep that in mind when choosing shoes.
Madison summers are relatively mild, but July can be hot. We expect the highs to be somewhere in the 70s or low 80s. Sometimes it can be a little humid and thunderstorm as well. If there is inclement weather (rain or high heat) we will move the ceremony and cocktail hour inside the barn.
We are requiring everyone 16 years and older to be vaccinated to attend the event. Because everyone will be vaccinated, we will not be requiring masking or social distancing at the ceremony and reception. You are welcome to wear a mask if you’d like, but it will not be required. We are expecting roughly 100 people at the event. The rehearsal dinner guidelines for masking and social distancing will follow Dane County guidelines, which state that vaccinated individuals are not required to mask or maintain social distancing. Again, you are welcome to do what you feel is best at the event.
There are a few different options for getting to Madison, please see our travel page for more details on airports.
We’ve elected to keep our same downtown Madison hotel blocks as it is the best part about being in Madison (see below for how to get from downtown to the ceremony/reception). You can find more information about our blocks on the Travel page of this website. If you would like to lodge closer to the event, there are some options near Deforest and Sun Prairie.
There are a few options. Harvest Moon Pond has plenty of parking if you have a car, and you can leave it overnight until 9 AM Sunday if necessary. We will also be providing bus transportation to/from downtown Madison. There will be two pick up times before the ceremony at the Concourse Hotel (2:30 & 2:45) and there will be three times leaving the venue to the Concourse (8:30, 10:00, and 11:30).
Yes, we will be serving wine, beer, cider, and seltzer throughout cocktail hour and the reception and drinks are on us. However there is no liquor allowed on the property and we can be fined if anyone brings any. So please leave your flasks at home!
Of course not! We will not be playing strictly ballroom music, so bring whatever dancing shoes you have and join us on the floor.
Your presence at our event is enough, but if you would like to purchase a gift for us we are registered through Zola which you can find on the "Registry" tab of this website.
Please send any gifts straight to us (we know it's a little unconventional, but it's the best for us logistically). If you want to bring a card with you to the wedding, we would love that.
New Glarus' Spotted Cow is a Madison favorite, and a quality standard beer. If you're partial to IPAs we suggest Karben4's Fantasy Factory (yes the one with a cat riding a unicorn on the bottle). Both are beers you can't get outside Wisconsin. Other breweries that are local are: Wisconsin Brewing Company, Ale Asylum, Three Sheeps, and Next Door Brewing. For my cider drinkers: try Cider Boys! It was the go-to when I was at UW.
